Orphan date February 2009 VC Loppem is a Belgium Belgian volleyball club. The team was founded in 1976 . In 1996, VC Loppem chose to relegate voluntarily from the Belgian Third Division, their highest position ever, back to the provincial leagues. The team colors are black and white. Chairman of the club is former Belgium Belgian national volleyball team player Jacques Verhaeghe . The team plays their games in sports hall De Strooien Hane , which is located in Loppem , a village in the municipality of Zedelgem . In 2006, VC Loppem 1 and VC Loppem 2, which both played in the West Vlaanderen West Flemish second division. VC Loppem 2 was chosen as Team of the League after they successfully avoided an expected relegation. In 2007, VC Loppem 1 and 2 merged, causing a lot of players to leave the team or retire. VC Loppem also saw the arrival of a new trainer, Jurgen Christiaen, in April 2007. Overall it was plagued by all symptoms which could be expected after such serious changes. A flawed season marked by slow growth and low esteem after a strong but overconfident start. The previous season however immediately showed signs to become quite the opposite of 2007 08. With three new strong players and a reformed base squad the team succeeded in winning almost every game attended beating in the process teams deemed a lot stronger. In the end, Loppem achieved promotion to the highest level of West Flemish volleyball. As of 2009 10, VC Loppem will again be represented by two teams at senior level.
