The Property Ombudsman is also the title by which the head of the TPO is known currently Christopher Hamer. The TPO was founded in 1990 as the Ombudsman for Corporate Estate Agents . It then became the Ombudsman for Estate agents on 1 Jan 1998, finally becoming The Property Ombudsman TPO on 1 May 2009. The TPO runs a voluntary scheme approved by the Office of Fair Trading OFT , and requires Estate Agents who register with it to uphold a certain code of practice TPO Code of Practice for Residential Estate Agents which includes additional protection for the consumer beyond that required by law. In return participating estate agents are allowed to display a TPO OFT approved logo. Similarly, Letting and property management agents subscribe to a Code of Practice for Letting Agents . The Property Ombudsman claims to provide a free, fair and independent service for dealing with unresolved disputes between sales and letting agents who have joined the TPO and consumers who are actual or potential buyers or sellers or landlords or tenants of residential property in the UK . Any client who feels that they have been unfairly disadvantaged by a TPO member such as an Estate Agent can take their case to the TPO s dispute resolution service which aims to reach a resolution of unresolved disputes in full and final settlement . The Taipei Philharmonic Orchestra zh t , abbreviated as TPO is a Taiwan ese orchestra based in Taipei . History Taipei Philharmonic Orchestra was founded in 1985 by a group of enthusiastic musicians. It has come a long way under the direction of late American conductor Henry Mazer , who came from Chicago Symphony Orchestra and stayed with TPO for over 18 years. In 1990, TPO undertook their first overseas concert tours to Europe and North America, with performances in France , Belgium , Austria , the United States , and Canada . Franz Endler , one of Vienna s leading music critics, wrote in the Vienna Kurier Newspaper , The ensemble plays with precision and unity... the Sinfonietta is of considerable quality... This conductor Henry Mazer made Schubert come alive and touch our hearts again. ref name intro Retrieved from TPO s official intro. ref In 1995, TPO embarked on yet another tour to the United States. One of the performances was given at one of the United States leading concert halls, the Boston Symphony Hall . The New York and Boston media showed with positive reviews. Among them, Richard Dyer , the editor of the Music Page of the Boston Globe , who wrote, The first sound of the Taipei Philharmonic in Boston Symphony Hall was electrifying. The way the orchestra plays is a real tribute to Mazers musicianship. Mazer has a rare understanding of how Verklarte Nacht is constructed, how it should sound and the wallop it should pack. They play with glowing sound, precision of intonation, absolute unanimity of impulse and rare commitment. ref name intro In September 2001, TPO, led by conductor Lin Tien chi , had a tour to Scandinavia to give two concerts in Stockholm , Sweden , and Helsinki , Finland . This event was the first time that a Taiwanese symphonic orchestra has ever been invited to perform in Scandinavia. Common rubbers include EPR Ethylene propylene rubber , EPDM EP diene rubber , EO ethylene octene , EB ethylene butadiene , SEBS Styrene ethylene butadiene styrene . This is not the amount of power that a radio station reports as its power, as in we re 100,000 watts of rock n roll , which is usually the effective radiated power ERP . The transmitter power output is normally less than the ERP. The radio antenna s design focuses the signalling telecommunication signal toward the horizon , creating gain and increasing the ERP. A Tree Preservation Order or TPO is a part of town and country planning in the United Kingdom . A TPO is made by a Local Planning Authority usually a Local government in the United Kingdom local council to protect specific trees or a particular area, group or woodland from deliberate damage and destruction. TPOs can prevent the felling, lopping, topping, uprooting or otherwise willful damaging of trees without the permission of the Local Planning Authority , although different TPOs have different degrees of protection. They can be made very quickly and in practice it is normal for a council to make an emergency TPO in less than a day in cases of immediate danger to trees. Legal basis File Winchelsea Road Streetscene.png thumb right 300px An example of a TPO This line of trees on private land in Winchelsea Road, north London was protected from imminent felling for development by action by the London Borough of Brent , after a local campaign by residents TPOs were originally introduced in the Town and Country Planning Act 1947 . Some TPOs therefore are over 50 years old, and still valid. The current regulations that enable TPOs are the Town and Country Planning Trees Regulations 1999 which came into force on 2 August 1999. Exemptions The following works normally do not require permission under any TPO Works approved by the Forestry Commission under a felling licence or other approved scheme. Felling or working on a dead, dying or dangerous tree the onus is on the person who authorises the work to prove that the tree was dead, dying or dangerous this can cause problems if the tree is felled and removed, as then there is no proof of its condition. A Seapost was a mail compartment aboard an ocean going vessel in which international exchange mail was distributed. The first USA service of this type was the U.S. German Seapost, which began operating in 1891 on the S.S. Havel North German Lloyd Line . This service rapidly expanded with routes to Great Britain , Central America , South America , and Asia . The Seapost service still employed fifty five clerks in early 1941. The last route of this type to South America was terminated October 19, 1941 due to unsafe wartime conditions on the Atlantic Ocean . The few remaining Seapost clerks transferred to other branches of the Railway Mail Service RMS . Seapost operations for the Post Office Department were supervised from a New York City, New York office.
