Joe s Comics was a short lived American comic book imprint of Top Cow Productions created specifically for J. Michael Straczynski . Top Cow offered JMS his own imprint after the impressive sales of Rising Stars . He accepted and named it Joe s Comics. In his own words cquote I looked around at all the other heightened titles Chaos, Awesome, Megadeathtech kinds of titles designed to be impressive and massive and said, How about just...Joe s Comics? As in, I d like some of Joe s Comics, or Read at Joe s, with a big 1950s diner clock logo. Rising Stars was moved to the new imprint. JMS s next projects, the critically lauded Midnight Nation , and Delicate Creatures , an illustrated fantasy parable, were published there as well. There were plans to publish an anthology comic, with the first issue being Dream Police comics Dream Police , which was described as Dragnet drama Dragnet in the dreamscape. OpenJMS is one of the major providers of Java Message Service API, which implements Sun Microsystems Java Message Service API 1.1 Specification. The current release is OpenJMS 0.7.7 beta 1. Java Message Service is an asynchronous communication mechanism in the distributed system field. It is very helpful in the situation where the distributed components are loosely coupled. Another popular distributed communication technology is Remote Method Invocation RMI , which is tightly coupled and requires an application to know a remote application s methods. One benefit of OpenJMS is that it is vendor neutral. Because the Java JMS specifications do not specify a wire protocol, each vendor s JMS implementation is distinct and not interoperable with others. Since JMS s are normally released as part of an application server provider this makes the implementation of a JMS vendor specific to that application server.
