Herlindis and Relindis were the daughters of the Frankish nobleman Adelard, who had his daughters brought up at the Benedictine monastery in Valenciennes . In 730 Herlindis s parents set up a Benedictine monastery at Aldeneik for his daughters. Herlindis was consecrated as its first abbess by Willibrord , and held the role until her death, after which Relindis was named to succeed her by Saint Boniface . The two sisters are usually portrayed together, sometimes also with a few nuns, holding either an abbess s staff or a model of the monastery. Her Calendar of saints feast day is 12 October, or on 13 February in Li ge on the same day as Relindis . The Royal Wulf, Mislead by its name was not actually created by Lee Wulff, which is mislead because of the name of the fly. After crossing the Atlantic, Theodore Gordon changed it to a dry fly. John Hailey, in 1976 added the red silk band. Along with that he added a tail of barred wood duck feathers. L. C. Orvis then changed the name to Royal Coachmen opposed to just Coachmen. It was given the name the Royal Wulff because it resembled many of the Wulff flies including the White Wulff and the Gray Wulff. Description The Royal Wulff is a dry fly that was created for rivers in New York in the Adirondacks. It is a fly that consists of red floss, peacock, and two herl. The Fly has a white calf tail wing.
