Headstone Manor is part of Harrow Museum . It is a 14th century moat ed manor house formerly the home of the Archbishop of Canterbury . The manor house is to the left Built in circa 1310, the moated manor house known as Headstone Manor is the earliest surviving timber framed building in Middlesex. Described as one of the most interesting domestic complexes in the whole country , the fabric of Headstone Manor contains examples of high quality work dating from the 14th, 17th and 18th centuries. Headstone Manor is a Grade I listed building. Headstone Manor is surrounded by the only surviving filled moat in Middlesex. The moat is contemporary in date to the oldest part of the building, and was constructed as a status symbol to reflect the wealth of the manor s owner. The land on which Headstone Manor stands is recorded to have belonged to Wulfred, Archbishop of Canterbury, in 825AD. The station is in Travelcard Zone 5 . Services The typical off peak service is three trains per hour to Euston railway station London Euston , and three trains per hour to Watford Junction railway station Watford Junction , calling at all stations. The trains to the Watford Junction are northbound are accessed through a gateway and going down a flight of stairs, whereas the other platform is southbound and is directed towards London Euston. This accessed by crossing over a bridge and also going down a flight of stairs to reach the platform. Furthermore, on the northbound platform, there is a gate exit which has no oyster readers, so therefore people wishing to touch in and out must use the main entrance at the top of the bridge. During the Silverlink era, the gate was rarely opened however in recent times, London Overground have often left the gate open. The station was served by the Bakerloo Line of the London Underground between 1917 and 1982 and it is planned that by 2025 when the Bakerloo line receives new rolling stock, London Overground services will be withdrawn and the Bakerloo line will be re extended to Watford Junction.
