Life He was born at Munich . In 1849, having held appointments at Speyer and Hadamar , he became rector of the newly founded Maximiliansgymnasium at Munich, and in 1856 director of the royal library and professor in the University of Munich . These posts he held till his death. Works Halm is known chiefly as the editor of Cicero and other Latin prose authors, although during his early career he also devoted considerable attention to Greek language Greek . After the death of Johann Caspar von Orelli JC Orelli , he joined Johann Georg Baiter JG Baiter in the preparation of a revised critical edition of the rhetorical and philosophical writings of Cicero 1854 1862 . His school editions of some of the speeches of Cicero in the Haupt and Sauppe series, with notes and introductions, were very successful. The Biamonti Catalogue is a catalogue of Ludwig van Beethoven s compositions published in 1968 by the ILTE of Turin. The original name of the work is Catalogo cronologico e tematico di tutte le opere di Beethoven, comprese quelle inedite e gli abbozzi non utilizzati . Giovanni Biamonti tried to combine all pieces of the author, including all works approached in other catalogues the opus, Kinsky Halm Catalogue , Willy Hess composer Hess and Grove , in a single chronological listing. All other catalogues are numbered by date of publishing. The numeration system used is Bia plus the number attributed to the piece in the catalogue. Although Biamonti s work comprises 849 entries, including published and unpublished pieces, and even fragments, from 1782 to March 1827, there are some that Biamonti could not have known about, and so there is still no single catalog with all of Beethoven s compositions. Aquila Romanus , a Latin Philologist grammarian who flourished in the second half of the 3rd century AD. He was the author of an extant treatise De Figuris Sententiarum et Elocutionis , written as an instalment of a complete rhetoric al handbook for the use of a young and eager correspondent. While recommending Demosthenes and Cicero as models, he takes his own examples almost exclusively from Cicero. His treatise is really adapted from that by Alexander of Greece rhetorician Alexander, son of Numenius , as is expressly stated by Julius Rufinianus , who brought out a supplementary treatise, augmented by material from other sources.
