Hallmark is a small, primarily residential neighborhood in western Louisville, Kentucky , USA founded in 1965. Its boundaries are Cane Run Road to the west, Algonquin Parkway to the north, and Cypress street to the east. The origins of its name are not known. The creation of the Hallmark neighborhood is a phenomenon. The area sits along Algonquin park east to west near the border of Louisville and Shively, Kentucky Shively . There are few distinctions that separate Hallmark from the surrounding areas of Park Duvalle or Shively. One of the most prominent churches in the area was the Reverend Dr. Walter Malone Jr. and the Canaan Missionary Baptist Church once located in the Hallmark area from 1984 to 1998, drawing most of the people around hallmark and areas in the west end to the church on Sundays. The Church moved to Hikes Point at the former Southeast Christian Church where they currently worship and presently is one of the largest African American Baptist Church in Kentucky. The church is now home to the Hill Street Baptist Church at the old Dixie Highway site. Charlotte Hallmark is a Cherokee American politician and served as the first woman chief of the Echota Cherokee Tribe of Alabama from 2006 2010. She had previously been elected as vice chief and served as interim chief four separate times. Early life and education Charlotte Hallmark was born into the Echota Cherokee Tribe. She attended local schools. Career Hallmark worked for 12 years for the Alabama Inter tribal Council, which administers federal programs to low income people. The Echota Cherokee Tribe of Alabama organized and incorporated in 1984 under provisions of the state s Davis Strong Act. The state set up an Indian Commission and recognized the Echota Cherokee and six other tribes. The tribe has not received federal recognition. Its members are descendants of Cherokee who evaded the United States Indian Removal of the 1830s. Active as a tribal member, Hallmark was elected repeatedly as vice chairman and served for several years. During that time, she served as interim chief four different times.
