Richard Theodore Haik born March 1, 1950 is a United States Federal Judge . One of four children, the Honorable Richard T. Haik was born in Lafayette, Louisiana and raised in New Iberia, LA . He graduated from Catholic High School in New Iberia, LA in 1968 where he was a three year lettermen in football and an all state defensive end fullback. He received a Bachelor of Science B.S. from the University of Southwest Louisiana in 1971 where he was a four year letterman in football. He received his Juris Doctor J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans School of Law in 1975. He was in the private practice of law in New Iberia, Louisiana from 1975 to 1984. He was a member of the Louisiana National Guard from 1971 to 1978. He was in the United States Army as a Reserve Captain from 1980 to 1984. He was elected as a Louisiana state district judge for the 16th JDC New Iberia, LA in 1984, to a seat vacated by the Honorable John M. Duhe, Jr. who became a federal district judge for the Western District of Louisiana in 1984. Judge Haik served as a state district judge in New Iberia, LA from 1984 to 1991. Judge Haik is currently a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana . Haik was nominated by President George H.W. Bush on April 11, 1991, to a seat vacated by John M. Duhe, Jr. . Ironically, this was the second time Judge Haik assumed a bench vacated by the Honorable John M. Duhe, Jr. . Mikayel Chamchian Mik ayel am yan 1738 1823 was an Armenian Mekhitarist monk and historian. Career Chamchian was born in Istanbul and trained as a jeweler by the imperial jeweler Mikayel Chelebi Diuzian. He joined the Armenian Mechitarists Mekhitarian order in Venice in 1762. In 1774 he was appointed instructor of Armenian language in the monastery. In 1779, he wrote Kerakanutiun Haykazian Lezvi Grammar of the Armenian . By 1784, he had finished his Patmutiun Hayots i Skzbane Ashkharhi Minchev tsam diarn Armenian history from the beginning of the world to the year 1784 . The work marks the beginning of Romantic Armenian nationalism. Chamchian provided a chronology for the Armenian patriarchs of Moses of Chorene s History of Armenia Moses of Chorene History of Armenia , dating Haik s battle with Belus to 11 August 2492 BC. He is also the source for the traditionally accepted date for the foundation of official Christiandom in Armenia as AD 301. In 1795, he was sent back to Istanbul as the resident Mekhitarian representative. The Armenian Revolutionary Federation History Museum is a museum in Yerevan , Armenia , that displays the history of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation ARF and of its notable members. The museum initially opened in 1946 in Paris, France and throughout the years, accumulated as many as 3,000 artifacts. The Museum was inaugurated in Yerevan during an official ceremony on July 13, 2007 at the Kristapor Mikaelian Center. Dashnak leaders such as Hrant Markarian and supporters were present at the opening.
