Orphan date January 2012 FCCH stands for Frequency Correction Channel. It is a downlink only control channel in the GSM Um Interface Um radio interface. The FCCH burst, defined in GSM 05.02 section 5.2.4, is an all zero sequence that produces a fixed tone in the GMSK modulator output. This tone enables the Mobile to lock its local oscillator to the BS clock as required in GSM specification 05.01 section 6. The FCCH is transmitted in frames immediately before the Synchronization Channel SCH . The C rdoba and Huatusco Railroad Ferrocarril de C rdoba a Huatusco , FCCH was a narrow gauge railway narrow gauge railroad connecting Huatusco with C rdoba, Veracruz C rdoba . It was opened in 1902 and closed in 1953. History The FCCH built in an effort to provide rail service to the Veracruz town of Huatusco from the Ferrocarril Mexicano 1867 1959 Ferrocarril Mexicano FCM at C rdoba. Julio Limantour was an investment partner in the banking firm of Hugo Scherer Jr. and Company for many years. He was well known in Mexico City s business circles and abroad. Along with engineer Juan Navarro and Carlos Moricard, Limantour joined in a society to build a railroad line in Veracruz. In 1900 Navarro had acquired the rights to a railroad concession granted in 1898 to build a railroad line to run from C rdoba to Huatusco. The line was surveyed by the son of Porfirio D az , and 33 kilometers of RailGauge 2ft gauge rails reached Coscomatepec in 1902. The route across the flanks of Pico de Orizaba required expensive construction. The bridge at Tomatl n was 78 meters above a tributary of the R o Jamapa and 7 kilometers of 3.7 grade with 19 degree curves were required to reach Coscomatepec from Tomatl n. The construction of the railroad as well as the transportation of passengers, products and supplies were affected by the weather, topography, and infectious diseases, which were more prevalent near the coast. Construction was also delayed by the need for specialized equipment, some of which had to be acquired from firms in the United States and overseas. Funds were unavailable to complete the final 19 kilometers to Huatusco, and the line was sold to the Ferrocarril Mexicano in 1909 after Limantour s death. FCM purchased three new passenger train passenger coach rail coaches for their RailGauge 2ft gauge line and transferred a Shay locomotive from their Zacatl n Branch for use as a helper from Tomatl n to Coscomatepec. Mixed trains ran through 1951 with a 26 ton 2 6 0 pulling the coaches ... more details
Image Cellsite.jpg thumb alt A Cellular network tower in the Philippines. In radio communication , a control channel is a central channel that controls other constituent radios by handling data stream s. It is most often used in the context of a trunked radio system , where the control channel sends data which coordinates users in talkgroup s. In GSM networks, Control Channels can be broadly divided into 3 categories Broadcast Control Channel BCCH , Common Control Channel CCCH , and Dedicated Control Channels DCCH . Broadcast Control Channel The Broadcast Control Channel is transmitted by the BTS at all times. The RF carrier used to transmit the BCCH is referred to as the BCCH carrier. The MS monitors the information carried on the BCCH periodically at least every 30 secs , when it is switched on and not in a call. The BCCH Consists of a. Broadcast Control Channel BCCH Carries the following information Location Area Identity LAI . List of neighboring cells that should be monitored by the MS. List of frequencies used in the cell. Cell identity. Power control indicator. DTX permitted. Access control i.e., emergency calls, call barring ... etc. . CBCH description. The BCCH is transmitted at constant power at all times, and all MS that may seek to use it measure its signal strength. Dummy bursts are transmitted to ensure continuity when there is no BCCH carrier traffic. b. Frequency Correction Channel FCCH This is transmitted frequently on the BCCH timeslot and allows the mobile to synchronize its own frequency to that of the transmitting base site. The FCCH may only be sent during timeslot 0 on the BCCH carrier frequency and therefore it acts as a flag to the mobile to identify Timeslot 0. c. Synchronization Channel SCH The SCH carries the information to enable the MS to synchronize to the TDMA frame structure and know the timing of the individual timeslots. The following parameters are sent Frame number. Base Site Identity Code BSIC . The MS will monitor BCCH informat ... more details
