  1. Model maker

Unreferenced date March 2011 A model maker is a professional craftsperson who creates a 3 dimensional representation of a design or concept. Most products in use and in development today first take form as a model. This model may be an exacting duplicate prototype of the future design or a simple mock up of the general shape or concept. Many prototype models are used for testing physical properties of the design, others for usability and marketing studies. Mock ups are generally used as part of the design process to help convey each new iteration. Some model makers specialize in scale models that allow an easier grasp of the whole design or for portability of the model to a trade show or an architect or client s office. Other scale models are used in museum displays and in the movie special effects industry. Model makers work in many environments from private studio shops to corporate design and engineering facilities to research laboratories. The model maker must be highly skilled in the use of many machines including but not limited to manual lathe s, manual Milling machine mills , CNC machines, lasers, wire EDM, water jet saws, tig welders, sheet metal fabrication tools and wood working tools. Die Verwandtschaftsverh ltnisse der indogermanischen Sprachen . Weimar H. B hlau. In historical linguistics , the wave model or wave theory German language German Wellentheorie is a model of language change in which new features of a language spread from a central point in continuously weakening concentric circles, similar to the waves created when a stone is thrown into a body of water. According to the model, this should lead to convergence among dissimilar languages. The theory was directed against the doctrine of sound laws and the strict tree model introduced by the Neogrammarian s and laid the foundations of modern sociolinguistics . 1. SWAT model

SWAT Soil Water Assessment Tool is an hydrology model with the following components weather, surface runoff , return flow, percolation, evapotranspiration , transmission losses, pond and reservoir storage, crop growth and irrigation, groundwater flow, reach routing, nutrient and pesticide loading, water transfer. SWAT can be considered a watershed hydrological transport model . Model operation SWAT is a continuous time model that operates on a daily time step at basin scale. The objective of such a model is to predict the long term impacts in large basins of management and also timing of agricultural practices within a year i.e., crop rotations, planting and harvest dates, irrigation, fertilizer, and pesticide application rates and timing . It can be used to simulate at the basin scale water and nutrients cycle in landscapes whose dominant land use is agriculture. It can also help in assessing the environmental efficiency of BMP s and alternative management policies. SWAT uses a two level dissagregation scheme a preliminary subbasin identification is carried out based on topographic criteria, followed by further discretization using land use and soil type considerations. Areas with the same soil type and land use form a Hydrologic Response Unit HRU , a basic computational unit assumed to be homogeneous in hydrologic response to land cover change. The Okumura model for Urban Areas is a Radio propagation model that was built using the data collected in the city of Tokyo , Japan . The model is ideal for using in cities with many urban structures but not many tall blocking structures. The model served as a base for the Hata Model for Urban Areas Hata Model . Okumura model was built into three modes. The ones for urban, suburban and open areas. The model for urban areas was built first and used as the base for others. Coverage Frequency 150  MHz to 1920  MHz Mobile station antenna height between 1 m and 10 m Base station antenna height between 30 m and 1000 m Link distance between 1  km and 100  km Mathematical formulation The Okumura model is formally expressed as math L L FSL A MU H MG H BG sum K correction math where, L ... correction sub Correction factor gain such as type of environment, water surfaces, isolated obstacle etc. Points to note Okumura s model is one of the most widely used models for signal prediction in urban areas. This model is applicable for frequencies in the range 150  MHz to 1920  MHz ... to 100  km. To determine path loss using Okumura s model, the free space path loss between the points ... to it along with correction factors to account for the type of terrain. The model can be expressed ... log hre 3 10 m hre 3 m Other corrections may also be applied to Okumura s model. Some of the important ... factors are also available as Okumura curves 0ku68 . Okumura s model is wholly based on measured ... s model is considered to be among the simplest and best in terms of accuracy in path loss prediction ... disadvantage with the model is its slow response to rapid changes in terrain, therefore the model is fairly ... to RF propagation, John S.
