The Warsaw Derby is a race for three year old Thoroughbred race horse s first run in 1874 at a racetrack in Warsaw , Poland . In addition to the purse money, the race winner receives the Prize of the President of the Republic of Poland. It is limited by the Solidarno ci, Jana Paw a II, Prosta and Towarowa streets. It used to be a poor suburb until after the World War I . During the interbellum it was gradually built up with large houses. During the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising and the Warsaw Uprising most of the area was razed to the ground by the Germans. After the war it was not rebuilt, and instead a large residential area with Soc Realism Soc Realist buildings was created there.
