  1. March of Turin

The county or march of Turin sometimes march of Susa was founded in 941 by Hugh of Italy , who appointed Arduin Glaber as its governor. Arduin had captured Turin and the Susa Valley from the Saracens . By subsequent conquests, Arduin came to govern a vast march with the margravial title consistently used from 962 . The marches march , first called the marca Arduinica , was formed by a reorganisation of the territory of the regnum Italicum into three margraviates for three great families the marca Arduinica , marca Aleramica , and marca Obertenga . Ulric Manfred II of Turin Ulric Manfred II , the most powerful margrave, left the march to his daughter Adelaide of Susa Adelaide , who married Otto of Savoy in 1046 . Adelaide s children and grandchildren through Otto co governed the march with her after Otto s death, but after her death in 1090 , the comital authority of the city of Turin was invested in the bishop 1092 and the city itself was granted a Medieval commune commune 1091 . The margravial lands were absorbed into House of Savoy Savoy , of which Turin became the eventual capital some centuries later. In 1076 , the Emperor Henry IV , at odds with most of the local nobility and the church, appointed his son Conrad II of Italy Conrad Margrave of Turin at the age of two. This power was never effectual and the title was purely nominal, as he was his father s heir. 1. Convention of Turin

about the 1733 treaty Treaty of Turin 1733 the 1860 treaty Treaty of Turin The Convention of Turin was a 1742 agreement between Austria and Sardinia signed in the Sardinian capital of Turin . It created a military alliance between the states, directly principally against Spain. It was signed by the Sardinian Chief Minister the Marquis D Ormea and the Austrian envoy Count Schulenburg . Following the outbreak of the War of the Austrian Succession and the attack on Austria by a coalition of states including France , Prussia , Bavaria and Saxony their possessions in Italy began to look vulnerable. Spain had ambitions in the area, driven by Elisabeth Farnese who wished to secure Italian kingdoms for her sons. Austria tried to persuade Sardinia to join with them against Spain, although this was resisted by the Sardinian leadership. Sardinian attempts to remain neutral were undermined by apparent Spanish threat s to their independence. After a large Spanish force was shipped across the Mediterranean and was poised for offensive operations in Italy, Sardinia moved towards concluding agreements with both the British and Austrians. The Sardinians initially made specific territorial requests from Austria as a payment for their co operation, but later abandoned this for vaguer promises for new territory in Lombardy . The agreement was concluded on 1 February 1742. ref Browning p.96 97 ref ref Owen p.129 ref The agreement was later expanded on by the Treaty of Worms 1743 . This article is about the 14th century treaty. For the 17th century one, see peace of Turin 1696 . The Peace of Turin signed on August 8, 1381, ended the War of Chioggia , the last stage of the larger Venetian Genoese War . Neither the Republic of Venice nor the Republic of Genoa succeeded in gaining the upper hand, and Venice temporarily lost some territories. However, in fact Genoa was much more weakened, and Venice was emerging triumphant in its long struggle with Genoa over the Mediterranean commerce. Provisions Through the mediation of the Count of Savoy Green Count of Savoy , Amadeus VI, Count of Savoy Amadeus VI , the two sides made a peace treaty at Turin . It gave no formal advantage to Genoa or Venice, and in fact Venice lost some territories Tenedos was occupied by Austria , Treviso was taken over by the Carrara , Tenedos fell to Byzantine Empire Byzantium , Trieste to Aquileia , and Venice lost control of Dalmatia as well to Hungary . The Peace of Turin consisted of four separate treaties. By the treaty between Venice and Hungary it was agreed that the Venetians should pay seven thousand ducats to the crown of Hungary every year, that the Hungarians on their side should not sail on any river which emptied into the Adriatic between Cape Palmentaria and Rimini , and that Dalmatian merchants should not buy goods in Venice with a value greater than 35,000 ducats.
