    Orphan date November 2006 Moses Ephraim 1620 1625 before 1688 was a Dutch Republic Dutch banker, perhaps originating from Germany, who is the ancestor of the Dutch Ephraim and Tilanus families, and according to oral family history was a war hero during the Dutch Independence War . In 1646, Frederik Hendrik , Prince of Orange and, amongst much else, Count of Buren , assigned Moses to be the banker in the city of Buren in Gelderland , for a period of six years. He was reassigned twice and remained at this position until 1664, during which time he was also the cosher butcher. In 1671 he still lived in Buren, but by January 27, 1688, his wife Beliken was noted to be a widow in the same town. In 1876, Jechi l Ephraim, a descendant of Moses son Ephraim Moses c. 1650 1731 who in 1678 had moved to nearby Tiel and became a very successful banker, published a story that got much press relating that ancestor Moses Ephraim was honourably known as Tilanus of Tiel for his successful strategy during a Spanish siege of Tiel. Moses would have suggested that the citizens place their metal chimney pots round the city walls they only had two cannons to scare away the marauding Spain Spanish siege makers. Unfortunately, the Spanish are not known to have besieged Tiel in the years Moses Ephraim could have participated instead, the France French took both Tiel and Buren in 1672, under Marshall Turenne , but the citizens opened the gate for them, anticipating that they could not resist their forces.     Ephraim Ruebush September 26, 1833 &ndash September 26, 1924 was a music teacher and publisher. Ephraim Ruebush was born in Churchville, Virginia , the son of John Ruebush and Mary Huffman. In September 1853, Ruebush traveled to Singers Glen, Virginia, to study music and printing under Joseph Funk . He married Lucille Virginia Kieffer on March 28, 1861. With his brother in law, Aldine Silliman Kieffer , he founded the Kieffer Ruebush music company in Dayton, Virginia . This became one of the largest and most influential gospel music companies of its day, printing songbooks into the 1940s. He died on September 26, 1924, and is buried in Dayton. He represented Missisquoi in the Legislative Assembly of Lower Canada from 1834 until the suspension of the constitution in 1838. He was born in Shrewsbury, Vermont , the son of Amos Knight, and settled in the Eastern Townships before the War of 1812 . He lived in Saint Armand, Quebec Saint Armand and later Dunham, Quebec Dunhuam , then moved to Bedford, Quebec Bedford after his marriage to Philenda Beeman in 1819. He attended an assembly of reformers at Stanbridge, Quebec Stanbridge in 1837 and was put in prison in Montreal in 1838. Knight died in Stanbridge at the age of 81.
