Stadelheim Transmitter was a medium wave broadcast transmitter in Munich Stadelheim, built in 1926 in the neighbourhood of the famous Stadelheim Prison . It took up experimental operation on March 1, 1926 and full operation on April 1, 1926. As Antenna radio antenna , this transmitter used a t antenna hung up on two 100 metre high free standing steel framework towers. The transmitter used a Vacuum tube tube transmitter and a Alexanderson alternator machine transmitter from the company C Lorenz AG, the company which made the Lorenz cipher machine. However the machine transmitter had numerous technical problems. Antenna problems In addition, the transmitting antenna did not work well and was replaced in the autumn of 1926 by a T antenna hung on two 75 metre high wood framework towers, ref http skyscraperpage.com diagrams ?b60833 ref ref http skyscraperpage.com diagrams ?b60834 ref which were built by the company Kuebler, located in Stuttgart . In the night of 22 23 November 1930 a storm bent both towers at a height of 25 metres some buildings were also damaged. Transmitting was restarted later that day with an emergency antenna, which was stretched between the tower stumps. The destroyed towers were replaced with two new wood towers with T antennas, placed farther from the buildings. nofootnotes date April 2011 Golm transmitter was a mediumwave broadcasting facility on the area of a former military high school at Golm near Potsdam . It was inaugurated in 1948 as central transmitter for Brandenburg state. Golm transmitter used from 1948 to 1979 a 100 metre tall wooden lattice tower with a horizontal wooden cross on its top. Between the end of the beams of this cross wires were spun. From the middle of each horizontal wire, a vertical wire run down to the helix building, which was situated under the feet of the tower construction. The antenna of Golm transmitter consisted therefore of 4 parallel switched T antennas, which were carried by the crossd atop the wooden tower. The wooden tower of Golm transmitter was not a new construction. It was built at 1936 at Rehmate, the today area of Sender Zehlendorf Zehlendorf transmitter as tower for carrying shortwave antennas. It was the only antenna structure there not dismantled by Soviet troops after World War II. As materials for structural engineering were nearly not available in former Eastern Germany after World War II, it was decided to dismantle this structure and rebuild it as an antenna tower at Golm, although the erection of wooden radio towers was already not state of time any more. The tower of Golm transmitter remained after the demolition of the wooden radio tower of Wiederau transmitter in 1953 until 1979 the tallest wooden structure in former Eastern Germany and was a well known landmark of the Potsdam area. On October 25, 1979 it was demolished with explosives because of its bad structural state. As replacement two 51 metre tall guyed mast radiator s were built, from which one served as main and the other as backup antenna. After German Reunification Golm transmitter was shut down in 1993 and the whole facility dismantled.
