Leo voiced by Gary Chalk actor Gary Chalk is the lionking of the jungle, but unfortunately he doesn t know well what a king s job is. He believes it is his right to do as he pleases, even if it means disrupting the peace of others or being plain rude to them, as a king, Leo thinks everyone should look out for his well being and comfort. One day, Leo meets a young lion whose mother has been recently taken away and who comes to Leo for help, being as selfish as he is, Leo turns the young lion away. However, after several different adventures, Leo learns what his place as a king is and how he must behave and treat the creatures who have almost lost all faith in him. Leo rallies the jungle animals to the rescue, and in the epologue, the narrator Michael Donovan says that Leo asked the cub s mother to be his queen, and the cub himself grew into a strong young lion, now called Leo II and one day he would be the Jungle King. Leo the Lion was produced by Jetlag Productions and was distributed to DVD in 2002 by GoodTimes Entertainment . Trivia Leo the Lion made its debut on DVD under the Collectible Classics line. Notability date March 2010 Lion Vs. Lion , also known as Roar Of The Lion and Nan bei shi wang , is a Shaw Brothers film written and directed by Hsu Hsia and Chien Yuen Sheng. It is known for its excellent North vs. South lion dance. Lo Meng also gets a chance to display his mantis fist style. Hsu and Chien were two veteran martial art stuntmen of the Hong Kong and Taiwanese circuits. Both men would most likely be recognized in the west for their cameo or secondary roles. Each collaborated with the most elite of kung fu directors and choreographers in the industry. Hsu Hsia is most recognized for his collaboration with Yuen Wo Ping s Drunken Master starring Jackie Chan. He played a character known as the King of Sticks. Chien Yuen Sheng may best be identified as a character called the Sleeping Sword in John Woo s Last Hurrah For Chivalry, however, he does play a role in Lion Vs. The mare was about to be sold to the factory, because she was apparently unable to breed any longer, and Nicholson was able to buy both her and another mare for a cheap 40.
