The company s best known product are the Neapolitan wafer s , introduced in 1898. They are sold in blocks of ten 47 x 17 x 17  mm hazelnut cream filled wafers. The hazelnuts were originally imported from the Naples region in Italy, hence the name. The basic recipe has remained unchanged to this day. The company logo is a picture of Stephansdom St Stephen s Cathedral in Vienna . This dates back to the 1890s, when Josef Manner opened his first shop right next to the Cathedral. There is an agreement between the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Vienna and the Manner Company whereby the latter is allowed the use of the logo in return for paying the wages of one stone mason doing repair work on the Cathedral. Popular culture The Manner wafer products had a cameo appearance in the movie Terminator 3 Rise of the Machines , when the Terminator, played by Austrian born Arnold Schwarzenegger , grabs a bunch when shopping for food at the gas station in the desert. Since Manner wafers are one of Schwarzenegger s favorite snacks, he integrated them into the movie. Manner ran a series of television commercial s in Austria in 2003 , marketing their wafer with the release of the movie in theatres. Additionally, alpine style means the refusal of fixed ropes , high altitude porters and the use of supplemental oxygen. Many consider Alpine style to be the purest form of mountaineering, setting a standard to which all mountaineers should aspire. This style became well known and popular with Reinhold Messner , when he and Peter Habeler climbed Gasherbrum I without oxygen equipment in 1975. It was Hermann Buhl s idea to demonstrate Alpine style in the Karakoram at the successful Austrian Broad Peak expedition in 1957 in pure Alpine style the members of this expedition later climbed Skil Brum Marcus Schmuck and Fritz Wintersteller and approached Chogolisa Hermann Buhl and Kurt Diemberger . This Bharatanatyam style was developed largely out of the devadasi traditions and Melattur Bhagavata Mela by Mangudi Dorairaja Iyer 1900 1980 , a sanyasi following Srividya Upasana . Mangudi became interested in Shuddha Nrittam after watching a performance by devadasi of Cheyyur Sengalvarayar temple, who performed it along with other 71 types of items e.g. Kavita , Nritta , Vadya , Sangeeta and others . Themes Unlike other Bharatanatyam gurus, Mangudi avoided the items which glorified the poet s human patrons, as performing such items would be inconsistent with his adherence to spiritual practices of Srividya Upasana . It is only the deities or the great rishis who were deemed worthy of such glorification. Thus, the repertoire of a Melattur style dancer consists mostly of the ancient items performed in the temples. Footwork The Melattur style discourages stamping the feet hard against the floor. Image Bazhul.jpg.JPEG thumb 200px Kharkiv style bandurist Hryhory Bazhul The Kharkiv Academic Style of Bandura Playing is a specific way of playing the Ukrainian folk instrument bandura . The instrument is held in a way that allows both hands equal access to all the strings. Firstly, the left hand has access to the entire range of strings and is not restricted to holding the instrument as it is in other styles and secondly, the right hand similarly has access to play all the treble strings and also all the bass strings. The manner in which the instrument is held also influences the technique used by the bandurist . In some instances the left hand may use all five fingers in playing. The position in which the bandura is held also means that the 5th finger of the right hand can also be used with more dexterity than in the Kiev style . The left hand has two positions for playing. The first position is such that the thumb is used to slide the hand along the edge of the instrument and allowing the remaining four fingers to pluck the strings and the second position is such that the left arm is thrown over the instrument as shown in photograph of the bandurist giving the hand access to all the strings so as to either complement or mirror the action of the right hand. The fact that both hands have access to all of the strings means that both hands are able to pluck the same strings at a fraction of a second apart and thus produce complex tremolo s and other effects. It is not possible to create these effects on the Kiev style bandura and are not possible to be reproduced even when two Kiev style instruments are played simultaneously. The Sheraton style was inspired by the Louis XVI style and features round tapered legs, fluting and most notably contrasting veneer inlays. Sheraton style furniture takes lightweight rectilinear forms, using satinwood , mahogany and tulipwood, sycamore and rosewood for inlaid decorations, though painted finishes and brass fittings are also to be found. Swags, husks, flutings, festoons, and rams heads are amongst the common motifs applied to pieces of this style. Without pedantic archaeology, it brought the Neo Classical taste of architects like Robert Adam within reach of the middle class. In many respects Sheraton style corresponds with the contemporary Directoire style Directoire style of France.
