It was given conditional governance for a 2 year period in 2009 on the basis that it work with represent all styles of taekwondo in Scotland. Taekwondoscotland comprised two parts, the Scottish Branch of the BTCB , BTCB Scotland , and TKD Scotland LTD. TKD Scotland LTD was tasked with delivering elite athlete programmes as well as being accountable for public funds supplied by sportscotland . Membership of taekwondoscotland also included around 250 members from groups outwith BTCB Scotland , namely the BTCB member group the United Taekwondo Association. TKDSL Departure In early 2011 due to irreconcilable differences between BTCB Scotland and TKD Scotland LTD, the entire national team and coaching staff, as well as 700 members left BTCB Scotland to form a new national association, Taekwondo Scotland Limited TKDSL , leaving BTCB Scotland with fewer than 200 members and taekwondoscotland with less than 450 including members from the UTA . De recognition The conditional governance period granted by sportscotland came to an end in 2011. Following the end of this governance period, sportscotland in August 2011 announced that it was de recognising taekwondoscotland as the Scottish Governing Body for taekwondo stating that it was evident the key condition to work with represent all styles of taekwondo in Scotland had not been met. As a result, on the 31st of August 2011 sportscotland officially de recognised taekwondoscotland as the Scottish Governing Body for Taekwondo.
