It is a 3D racing game, where several characters and their customized skimmers compete in races around various global tourist attractions and historic venues, including the Grand Canyon and Chicago . The racers are Cobra , Edward Charles Eddy Royce, Horst, Isis the Crisis, Kin & Gin Matsu twin sisters , Rysho, Shaman , Slayed, Ted Malibu Beach, Victoria Venice . The game is compatible with DOS as well as Windows 95 and Windows 98 via their native DOS support. Later versions of Windows based on the NT kernel have issues with running the game, but it can be run successfully via DOSBox under Windows XP , Windows Vista , Windows 7 , Linux and Mac OS X . It was also distributed free with Classic Logitech Wingman Extreme Joysticks during the 1990s. Slip Stream was an unreleased conversion the game which in 1996 was being prepared for Sony PlayStation platform s Japanese market it was supposed to be later completely reshaped for its European release . Unreferenced date October 2010 Slipstream were formed in 1994 after Mark Refoy left Spiritualized . The band consisted of Ian Anderson on guitar, Gary Lennon on bass, Steve Beswick on drums and occasional appearances from Jonny Mattock who had also stopped drumming for Spiritualized later that year. Over the following five years the band released two albums, Slipstream and Be Groovy Or Leave , and a compilation CD, Side Effects , all on Che Records. In 1999 the band ceased recording after releasing a final single, Everything And Anything , on the Enraptured label. The track recently featured on the soundtrack to the BBC Three situation comedy sitcom , Ideal TV series Ideal starring Johnny Vegas . In 2004 Slipstream, now down to a two piece consisting of the former Spacemen 3 members, Mark Refoy and Jonny Mattock, decided to play live again, with the help of electronic augmentation. Both men reside in their home town of Northampton . In January 2008 Slipstream released their new album Mantra as a download at www.northernstarrecords.co.uk. The twelve track album was mixed by Pete Gleadall at his West London studio, Hoedown City. Mantra was released on CD on the Enraptured label on 27 October 2008. All songs were written by Mark Refoy and Jonny Mattock. Refoy is a member of another band, the Sunshine Valley Dance Club. He appeared alongside former Levitation band Levitation and Dark Star band Dark Star guitarist Christian Hayes Bic Hayes on the world tour for the Pet Shop Boys , including an appearance headlining the Live 8 concert, Moscow .
