A bert is usually performed on banks or transitions. When performing a bert the skateboarder crouches down while doing a frontside carve, plants his front hand on the ground and extends his back foot and torso making the back wheels slide out. After the slide the skateboard has made a 180 degree sweeping turn and the skateboarder pushes himself up and continues back to the direction where he came from. When performed in a transition it is possible to convert a bertlemann slide in to a grind by timing the slide so that during the apex of the sweep the back truck hits the coping. A bertlemann was originally a simple turn planted hand that did not involve sliding. It was named after Larry Bertlemann , a surfer who first performed the trick on a surfboard, by the Z Boys , who imitated Bertlemann s style on skateboards and ended up creating this trick. Cass & Slide is an electronic music production and remix duo of Cass Cutbush and Peter Martin. Cass founded the record label Fire with Lee Burridge in 2000. Cass & Slide released several singles on Fire and its sublabel, Fire 999. These included remixes of songs from the films Gladiator and The Italian Job . They also released original singles on labels such as Additive Records and EQ Grey EQ Grey . Since the demise of Fire in 2003, Cass opened the new record label Sabotage Systems. A circular slide chart is sometimes referred to as a wheel chart or Volvelle . Unlike other hand held mechanical calculating devices such as slide rules and addiator s, which have been replaced by electronic calculators and computer software, wheel charts and slide charts have survived to the present time. There are a number of companies who design and manufacture these devices. Unlike the general purpose mechanical calculators, slide charts are usually devoted to carrying out a particular specialized calculation, or displaying information on a single product or a particular process. For example, the CurveEasy wheel chart displays information related to spherical geometry calculations and the Prestolog calculator is used for cost profit calculations. Another example of a wheel chart is the Planisphere , which shows the location of stars in the sky for a given location, date, and time. Slide charts are often associated with particular sports, political campaigns or commercial companies. For example, a pharmaceutical company may create wheel charts printed with their company name and product information for distribution to medical practitioners. Slide charts are common collectables.
