Life Sir Henry s eldest son, Charles won a King s Scholarship to Eton College where he was a friend and contemporary of Douglas Hurd before reading an Master of Arts Oxbridge and Dublin MA and PhD in Classics at Trinity College, Cambridge . He married the artist Elizabeth Andrewes in 1954 and they had two children, Edward and Penelope. He then entered teaching, first at Marlborough College and then from 1954 to 1984 at Eton, where he rose to housemaster. He was a specialist in ancient Greek metre and Theatre of ancient Greece tragedy . His publications include an Oxford University Press edition of Orestes play Orestes by Euripides with commentary, and numerous journal articles and reviews. SirCharles Hamilton, 2ndBaronet 25 May 1767 &ndash 14 September 1849 was a British naval officer and governor of Colony of Newfoundland Newfoundland . Hamilton was born in Great Britain Britain in 1767. He began his naval career at the age of nine on his father s ship, the Hector . He attended the Royal Naval Academy at Portsmouth from 1777 to 1779. He commanded a number of vessels in the Royal Navy and was also a member of the British parliament several times between 1790 and 1812 while still serving in the Royal Navy . He became baronet of Trebinshun on his father s death in 1784. From 1814 to 1817, he was Lieutenant Governor of Heligoland . He served as resident governor for the colony of Newfoundland from 1818 to 1823. During this period, he oversaw the reconstruction of St. John s, Newfoundland and Labrador St. John s following fires in 1818 and 1819. Although he was charged with promoting agriculture, he was soon discouraged by the poor soils of the island. The economy of the island was depressed due to decreased demand for Newfoundland Atlantic cod cod and Hamilton encouraged diversification of the fisheries to include whale s, pinniped seal s and salmon . His wife, Henrietta Hamilton Lady Hamilton , painted a well known portrait of Demasduwit , also called Mary March, a Beothuk woman captured in 1818. Hamilton was made an admiral on 22 July 1830, and died at the family home at Iping, West Sussex in 1849. Sir Henry Lyttelton, 2ndBaronet 1624 24 June 1693 was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons of England House of Commons from 1678 to 1679. Lyttelton was the eldest surviving son of Sir Thomas Lyttelton, 1st Baronet , from whom he inherited the family estates in Frankley , Halesowen , Hagley , and Upper Arley in 1649. He was elected Member of Parliament for Lichfield UK Parliament constituency Lichfield in 1678 and sat until 1679. He spent 17 months imprisoned in the Tower of London . Lyttelton married twice but had no male issue, so that he was succeeded in the Lyttelton Baronets baronetcy by his brother.
