Shortly after the War her family moved to Sweden. She is a Swedish writer and literary critic and has so far published seven novels, a collection of essays and a biography on the Norwegian novelist and winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature 1920 Knut Hamsun . She received the 2004 Selma Lagerl f Prize and in 2007 she received an Honorary Doctorate in Literature at Lund University , Sweden, for her literary merits. Biography Sigrid Comb chen made her debut at the age of seventeen with the novel Ett rumsrent s llskap , 1960. She returned to fiction seventeen years later with the novel I norra Europa , 1977. Her best known novel so far is Byron , 1988. It was translated into English the same year and to German in 1991, and was also translated to five more languages. She was editor of the magazine Allt om B cker for a number of years and writes at times for the feuilleton in daily newspapers such as Dagens Nyheter, Svenska Dagbladet and Expressen. Sigrid Sparre Sigrid Maria Josefina Ingeborg Richissa Eufemia Ulfhild 1 September 1825 &ndash 17 November 1910 was a Swedish lady in waiting and noblewoman, known for her relationship with Charles XV of Sweden . Sigrid Sparre was the daughter of General major Baron Sixten David Sparre and Sofia Amalia Eleonora Lewenhaupt, and the cousin of governor Knut Sparre . She was the lady in waiting of Josephine of Leuchtenberg queen Josephine of Sweden in 1844 1850 and became known for her love affair with Crown prince Charles. The queen gave her Catholic confessor, Studach, the task to provide evidence of the affair by catching the couple together. This was achieved on Tullgarn Palace in 1850, after which Sparre lost her position and was forced to leave court, despite the protests of Charles. This forced separation from Sparre caused severe and lasting damage in the relationship between Charles and his mother. Sigrid Sparre married Fredrik Thure Cederstr m in 1852. Charles described was to describe Sigrid as his only true love . He married Louise of the Netherlands in 1850, and entered in a relationship with the relative of Sigrid, lad in waiting Josephine Sparre , the same year. She was the daughter of Svante Stensson Sture and King Martha Swedish noblewoman M rta king Martha Erikdotter Leijonhufvud , thereby the niece of queen Margaret Leijonhufvud and the granddaughter of regent Christina Gyllenstierna . She married to Ture Pedersson Bielke and became the mother of Svante Turesson Bielke . After the death of her husband in 1577, she succeeded him as royal governor of Stranda hundred. This was an unusual position for a person of her gender in 16th century Sweden, and one she kept until her death over 30 years later.
