Plot summary The Sea, the Sea is a tale of the strange obsessions that haunt a self satisfied playwright and theatre director director as he begins to write his memoirs . Charles Arrowby, its central figure, decides to withdraw from the world and dwell in seclusion in a house by the sea. Its western end is in the Mediterranean Sea at Achziv , near the Lebanese border in the far north of the country, and it extends to the Sea of Gallilee , a length of approximately 70 km 45mi . The trail is marked with different colors in different sections, and takes an average of 3 4 days to complete. The trail was very popular among youth organizations in the 50 s and 60 s. The first part of the trail climb from the Sea of Gallilee to Shimon bar Yochai grave in Mount Meron through Nahal Amud , this part of the trail is part of Israel National Trail . The second part of the trail goes the Mount Meron to Ma alot Tarshiha through Nahal Kziv . and the third days follow Nahal Kziv till the sea.
