    refimprove article date July 2010 Savannah Dragway was an eighth mile nowrap 200 m dragstrip used by the NHRA located near in Savannah, Georgia . The track opened as a quarter mile nowrap 400 m facility in 1968, but safety concerns and rising insurance costs caused it to convert to the smaller distance in the mid 1980s. They were forced to close down at the end of 2005, this was because a neighbour filed many noise complaints and also because their lease expired. An eighth mile track called Savannah River Dragway opened in 2006 in Screven County . It is further from Savannah, convert 50 mi km northwest of the old Savannah Dragway location. The onions were first grown near Vidalia, Georgia , in the early 1930s. It is an unusually sweet variety of onion, due to the low amount of sulfur in the soil in which the onions are grown. He graduated in 1890 with a Bachelor of Laws B.L. from the University of Georgia School of Law UGA School of Law in Athens, Georgia Athens and was a member of Demosthenian Literary Society while a studend. Moore gained admission to the state bar, and began the practice of law in Statesboro, Georgia . From 1906 to 1907, Moore was the Mayor of Statesboro.     BLP unsourced date October 2010 R. Edward Reddick, Jr born April 9, 1939 is an attorney and retired Judge of the State Court for Effingham County, Georgia Effingham County . He is a native of Screven County and moved to Springfield, Georgia to establish a law practice in 1966. He was elected Effingham County, Georgia Effingham County State Court Judge in 1970, a position he held until retiring in 2003. When he became Judge, there were about 60 cases in State Court every month compared to over 600 cases per month when he retired. A Paramount motion picture asked him to play the judge in Sam Raimi s The Gift 2000 film The Gift in 2000. Today, he practices law at Reddick & Exley in Springfield, Georgia and serves as Judge Pro Tem of the Effingham County State Court. Law Practice At the encouragement of his uncle, Dr. Grady Flythe, Reddick moved to Springfield, Ga. to begin his private law practice in 1966. When his brother, Grady Reddick graduated from law school in 1978, the two teamed up to form Reddick & Reddick. This partnership lasted for 10 years until Grady Reddick was elected Solicitor for the State Court of Screven County. Today, he maintains his law practice with Denmond Exley in Springfield, Georgia. Service as Judge of the State Court of Effingham County In 1970, he ran for Effingham County State Court Judge and ran unopposed for 8 terms. Along with the growth of Rincon and Effingham County, the court moved to full time status in 2001 and Reddick retired the following year. Ronald K. Thompson succeeded him in becoming the next Judge of the State Court of Effingham County. Thompson, in turn, appointed Reddick Judge Pro Tem of the State Court allowing Reddick to fill in for his absence. Movies In 2000, a Paramount motion picture asked Reddick to play the role as judge in Sam Raimi s The Gift 2000 film The Gift .
