Born in Ribe , Hager was the son of the then organist at Ribe Domkirke, Johann Wilhelm Friedrich Hager 1728 1799 , and his wife Anna Margrethe Ingwersen 1736 1759 . Hager s father later became precentor in Copenhagen and then newspaper publisher in Flensburg and Altona, Hamburg Altona . F.C. Hager went to Africa in 1774 to work for the Danish West India Company Danish Guinesian Company . He became commandant of Fort Fredensborg on the Danish Gold Coast . In 1793 he became temporary governor ad interim from 27 January to 26 June and again from 8 August. On 11 June 1794 he received a commission as governor. William Rae died 1376 was a 14th century bishop of Glasgow . His background is obscure, although it is known that before ascending to the bishopric he was a precentor of the diocese of Glasgow . On the death of John Wishart bishop John Wishart in 1338, William was elected to the episcopal see see . His election was confirmed by Pope Benedict XII , who on 11 February 1339 ordered Annibald de Ceccano , bishop of Tusculum , to consecrate William. William was consecrated at Avignon a short while later. Curiously, his predecessor Wishart had been consecrated by the same man, in the same location. He had been the precentor of Dunkeld when, following the death of Bishop Michael de Monymusk , Andrew was elected as the new bishop. He travelled to the Apostolic See to receive consecration, and was provided to the Episcopal see see of Dunkeld on 17 June 1377 by Pope Gregory XI . Henshaw was educated at London Charterhouse and Magdalen Hall of Hertford College, Oxford , receiving a B.A. in 1624 and a D.D. in 1639. He subsequently was chaplain to the Earl of Bristol and Duke of Buckingham held benefices in Sussex was delinquent in debts for which he had to compound for his estate in 1646. In 1660, he was precentor and dean of Chichester and dean of Windsor, Berkshire Windsor . From that office he ascended to bishop of Peterborough. His Hone Succissivte 1631 was edited by W. Richard Benese died 1546 , was a canon priest canon of the Augustinian priory of Merton . Career Benese supplicated for the degree of B.C.L. at Oxford University 6 July 1619 ref Reg. Oxf. Hist. Soc. i. 110 ref . He signed the Dissolution of the Monasteries surrender of the Augustinian priory of Merton to Henry VIII on 16 April 1538. He had previously written a book upon the art and science of surveying land. The book was prepared for the press by Thomas Paynell, also a canon of Merton, and was printed by James Nicholson at Southwark . Its probable date is 1537. This first edition is more complete than a later one, which omits the tables for the calculation of dimensions. Later life The name Benese occurs as the holder of the following benefices and dignities, but whether this represents two or more different persons is uncertain. Evidence linking them is circumstantial. Clerk in the diocese of Hereford , 1514 Parson of Woodborough , Sarum dioc. 1511 to 1515 Precentor of Hereford, 11 Nov. 1538 to end of 1546 Prebendary of Farrendon, Line., 20 April 1542 Parson of Longlednam, Lincolnshire Rector of Long Ditton , Surrey, 11 Feb. 1542 Rector of All Hallows, Honey Lane , 11 Oct. 1540. The church of Long Ditton was in the patronage of Merton Priory , and that the next rector of All Hallows was Thomas Paynell, the editor of Benese s book, suggesting that these two benefices were held by the same person. The precentor of Hereford also died at the end of 1546, about the same time as the rector of Long Ditton. But the will of the rector of Long Ditton Alen. 31, 47 , dated 3 Nov. 1546, and proved 20 Oct. 1547, says nothing of the testator s holding other benefices. A brother, Edward, and a sister, Elizabeth, married to Ric. Skynner, are mentioned in the will.
