File Svatopluk I.jpg thumb Modern sketch depicting a scene from the legend of Svatopluk s twigs showing the king and his three sons. Predslav Predeslaus around 850 ? , almost unknown son of Svatopluk I Svatopluk , the most important King of Great Moravia 830 894 . Generally, two sons of Svatopluk are known Mojm r II and Svatopluk II . However, the famous legend of Svatopluk s twigs, written by the Byzantine emperor Constantine Porphyrogenitos around the 10th century, mentions three sons. It is supposed that the name of the third son could be Predslav Predslaus . This name is mentioned in the list of pilgrims scribbled in the 9th century on the margins of a Gospel book in Cividale del Friuli , together with the names of Svatopluk Szuentiepulc and his wife Szuentezizna . Daniel Rapant suggested that Predslav name gave an origin to the name of nowadays Slovak capitol Bratislava Preslava Civitas . Source Dvo k P. Prv kniha o Bratislave, Bansk Bystrica, 2006 Rapant D. He became ruler knyaz of Bulgaria when his father Boris I of Bulgaria Boris Mihail I decided to retire to a monastery after a reign of 36 years. Preserved seals with the inscription Michael the Monk, who is archon of the Bulgarians suggest, however, that Boris I never fully relinquished his power. Vladimir Rasate was the oldest of Boris Mihail s sons and possibly the only one of them who had been born a pagan.
