For the 1965 film Thunderball film of the same name she went by the nickname Pat and was portrayed by Molly Peters . Biography In both the novel and the film she is a nurse at the Shrublands heath farm and is tasked with specifically looking after James Bond character James Bond while he is a guest. At one point she sets Bond up with the traction table and leaves him for a few moments. However, during her time away, Bond is attacked by Count Lippe who turns up the power on the traction table in an attempt to kill him. He is ultimately saved by Fearing when she returns. After the incident Fearing and her manager, Mr. Wain, believe that Bond had accidentally bumped a switch causing the traction table to speed up. She pleads with Bond to remain silent on Mr. Wain s behalf feeling that it would damage their reputation if the other patients got word of the incident. Bond seduces her and makes love to her in her car after he is discharged ... a massage from Fearing using mink gloves. This is changed in the film and has Bond giving a mostly disrobed Fearing wearing nothing but a towel a massage with the mink glove, saying that mink reduces the tension. Fearing responds, Not mine. Paul Fearing February 28, 1762 &ndash August 21, 1822 was Delegate from the Territory Northwest of the River Ohio. He was born in Wareham, Massachusetts . He was prepared for college by tutors and graduated from Harvard University in 1785. He studied law in Windham, Connecticut and was admitted to the bar in 1787. He moved to the Northwest Territory in May 1788 and engaged in the practice of law at Fort Harmar, now a part of Marietta, Ohio . orphan date June 2008 unreferenced date June 2008 Maria Fearing was born in slavery near Gainesville, Alabama in 1838. She worked as a house servant in the home of William and Amanda Winston. After the end of slavery, she learned to read and write at the age of 33. She went on to graduate from the Freedman s Bureau School in Talladega, Alabama and qualified as a teacher. After a successful career as a teacher in Anniston, Alabama Anniston , she accompanied William Henry Sheppard to Africa in 1894 as a Presbyterian missionary . Rejected by the church due to her age which at this time she was 56, she initially financed her mission primarily through funds from the sale of her home. For twenty years, she worked in the Democratic Republic of the Congo Congo as a teacher and Bible translator. She also bought many people out of slavery in the Congo. Her most famous achievement was the establishment of the Pantops Home for Girls in Luebo , Congo. She was known as mama wa Mputu, which means Mother from far away . Despite the church s skepticism, Fearing outlasted many of her colleagues in Africa and only retired from missionary service in 1915 due to age restrictions. She taught school in Selma, Alabama until her death in 1937 at the age of 99. After her death, her fame was spread to many Alabama schoolchildren, both white and black, through the inclusion of her life story in Alabama history textbooks during the turbulent days of the 1960s.
