Introduction Porky in Egypt is a 1937 cartoon in the Looney Tunes series that stars Porky Pig . It deals with Porky trying to take a tour in Egypt to visit the pyramids there. Plot An offer for a trip to see the pyramids in Egypt is shown. The tour then proceeds to leave with a large caravan of camels being used as transportation. Porky then comes running out and chases after the caravan but he is too late and ends up not being able to catch up to them. He sees an available camel however, and takes it with the intent of seeing the pyramids, but he ends up lost in the desert and eventually him and weirdly enough, the camel start to suffer from dehydration. They start seeing various mirages that cause them to go into a dreamlike sequence where Porky and the camel both hallucinate and hear strange voices. The camel then starts acting weird and Porky tries to calm him down, but fails, and the camel grows more and more insane. Eventually, they run screaming from the desert and back into the town and get into a safehouse at which point Porky starts doing the same erratic behavior the camel did earlier in the cartoon. It is also siginficant in that it is the last cartoon that had Joe Dougherty as the voice of Porky Pig before Mel Blanc got the job and exclusive voice credit contract. The cartoon deals with Porky trying to propose to Petunia and him getting rejected by Petunia. He proceeds to try to commit suicide, but ends up in a bizarre dream showing what would happen if he married Petunia. Plot The cartoon opens with Petunia Pig suffering a nervous breakdown on a stage and being unable to pronounce her lines correctly, leading a man to try to interfere. This causes her to go into a rant and eventually the curtain closes on her and the main part of the cartoon starts. Porky is shown buying some flowers, candy, and then eventually a diamond ring.
