Partible paternity is where the nurture of a child is shared by multiple fathers, a form of polyandry . Stephen Beckerman of Penn State University and others have noted it in a number of traditional cultures. He suggests that children in such cultures fare better. He suggests a child of the Bari of Venezuela, is 16 more likely than a single fathered child to survive to the age of 15, probably due to improved nutrition. Among the Ach people of Eastern Paraguay, having multiple fathers appears to protect children from violence, the main cause of infant and child mortality. Others however have asserted that children do less well than when specific fathers are tasked with the upkeep of specific children, particularly ones that they are persuaded that they have fathered themselves. To suggest a resolution to the argument, given that such cultures are rare, and in depth studies are lacking, we must necessarily speculate about possible environmental origins. Firstly we predict that there will not be a marked difference in status between males. In many such groups, individuals may be closely related, siblings and cousins, giving strong familial bonds. Secondly in a difficult environment with a high mortality rate, no child will be left without a father. It may be in those cultures where social stratification is starting to appear that partible paternity becomes less effective. The practice may have been more widespread in the long distant past than we realise. In Paternity testing , Paternity Index PI is a calculated value generated for a single genetic marker or Locus genetics locus chromosomal location or site of DNA sequence of interest and is associated with the statistical strength or weight of that locus in favor of or against parentage given the phenotypes of the tested participants and the inheritance scenario. Phenotype typically refers to physical characteristics such as body plan, color, behavior, etc. in organisms. However, the term used in the area of DNA paternity testing refers to what is observed directly in the laboratory. Laboratories involved in parentage testing and other fields of human identity employ genetic testing panels that contain a battery of loci plural for locus each of which is selected due to extensive Allele allelic variations within and between populations. These genetic variations are not assumed to bestow physical and or behavioral attributes to the person carrying the allelic arrangement s and therefore are not subject to selective pressure and follow Hardy Weinberg inheritance patterns. It presented short, humorous vignettes which ran with musical accompaniment rather than a soundtrack, and challenged panellists to guess which obscure law was being broken by the Lawbreaker character portrayed by Paul Soles , who always got arrested at the end of the vignette Robert Warner actor Robert Warner starred as the police officer . The vignettes were quite subtle, and more often than not, despite many guesses, the panellists were unable to come up with the law that was actually being broken. The narrator would end by asking a question about how the judge eventually ruled.
