This article is about the research group. See Pallas disambiguation Pallas for other uses of this word. PALLAS stands for Parallel Applications, Libraries, Languages, Algorithms, and Systems. It is a research group in http parlab.eecs.berkeley.edu The Parallel Computing Laboratory of the http www.eecs.berkeley.edu Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department at http www.berkeley.edu University of California, Berkeley , led by http www.eecs.berkeley.edu keutzer Professor Kurt Keutzer . The group believes that the productive development of applications for an emerging generation of highly parallel micro processors is the preeminent programming challenge of our time. Its goal is to enable the productive development of efficient parallel applications by domain experts, not just parallel programming experts. The group conducts its research with the hypothesis that the key to the design of parallel programs is software architecture, and the key to their efficient implementation is frameworks. In its approach, the basis of both the software architecture and the corresponding frameworks is design patterns and a pattern language. Borrowed from civil architecture ref Christopher Alexander, Ishikawa and Silverstein, A Pattern Language , 2009 ref , the term design pattern means solutions to recurring design problems that domain experts learn. A pattern language is an organized way of navigating through a collection of design patterns to produce a design. The computational elements of http parlab.eecs.berkeley.edu wiki patterns patterns Our Pattern Language OPL are built up from a series of computational patterns drawn largely from thirteen motifs . This species breeds across middle latitudes of central Asia on dry steppes and similar habitats. Its nest is a ground scrape into which 2 3 greenish eggs with cryptic markings are laid. It is a partial bird migration migrant , especially from the northern parts of its range in Kazakhstan and Mongolia , but the extent and distance of the southerly winter movement depends on the amount of snowfall. Pallas s Sandgrouse occasionally erupts from its regular breeding and wintering range across Europe as far west as Great Britain , where it has bred, and Ireland . The reasons for these remarkable movements are not fully understood, but they have become less frequent, probably due to contraction of the western Siberian range as the steppes become more agricultural. Pallas s Sandgrouse is 30 41  cm long with small, pigeon like head and neck, but sturdy compact body. It has long pointed wings and tail and legs and toes are feathered. Its plumage is buff coloured, barred above with a black belly patch and pale underwings. The black belly and pale underwing distinguish this species from the related Tibetan Sandgrouse . 1. Pallas family

The Pallas or Palladian asteroid family family of asteroids is a grouping of B type asteroid B type asteroid s at very high inclination s in the intermediate asteroid belt Cellino et al. 2002 . It was first noted by Kiyotsugu Hirayama in 1928. The namesake of the family is 2 Pallas , an extremely large asteroid with a mean diameter of about 550  km. The remaining bodies are far smaller the largest is 5222 Ioffe with an estimated diameter of 22  km. This, along with the preponderance of the otherwise rare B spectral type among its members, indicates that this is likely a cratering family composed of ejecta from impacts on Pallas.
