History OutrightScotland began as the Scottish Minorities Group SMG in 1969 . In 1974, SMG bought the premises on Broughton Street that became the Edinburgh LGBT Centre . In 1978 SMG changed its name to the Scottish Homosexual Rights Group SHRG . In 1982 SHRG began publishing the now defunct Gay Scotland magazine.
