  1. Organon

italic title two other uses Aristotle s works on logic other uses Organon disambiguation a discussion of Aristotelian logic as a system term logic Aristotelianism The Organon Greek word meaning tool , organ is the name given by Aristotle s followers, the Peripatetic school Peripatetic s, to the standard collection of his six works on logic . The works are Categories Aristotle Categories , De Interpretatione On Interpretation , Prior Analytics , Posterior Analytics , Topics Aristotle Topics , and Sophistical Refutations . Constitution of the texts The order of the works is not chronological which is now hard to determine but was deliberately chosen by Theophrastus to constitute a well structured system. Indeed, parts of them seem to be a scheme of a lecture on logic. The arrangement of the works was made by Andronicus of Rhodes around 40 BC. r Oxford Aristotle s Metaphysics has some points of overlap with the works making up the Organon but is not traditionally considered part of it additionally there are works on logic attributed, with varying degrees of plausibility, to Aristotle that were not known to the Peripatetics. 1. Selective Relaxant Binding Agent

unreferenced date January 2008 Selective Relaxant Binding Agent s SRBAs are a new class of drug s that selectively encapsulates and binds neuromuscular blocking agents NMBAs . The first drug introduction of an SRBA is sugammadex . Sugammadex is a modified gamma cyclodextrin that specifically encapsulates and binds the aminosteroid NMBAs rocuronium vecuronium pancuronium . SRBAs exert a chelating action that effectively terminates an NMBA ability to bind to nicotinic receptor s. Discovery of SRBAs The discovery of SRBA as a new class of drug is the result of work done by Organon laboratories at the Newhouse Research Site Newhouse research site in Scotland . Cyclodextrin s were explored as a means to solubilize rocuronium bromide a steroidal NMBA in a neutral aqueous solution. Upon creating numerous modified cyclodextrins, one particular molecule was found to possess extremely high affinity for the rocuronium molecule. Farampator has been investigated for its effect on AMPA receptor s and researched for potential use in the treatment of schizophrenia and Alzheimer s Disease . It was found to improve short term memory, but impaired episodic memory. It produced side effects SEs such as headache, somnolence and nausea. Subjects with SEs had significantly higher plasma levels of farampator than subjects without SEs. 1. Alethiology

Alethiology or Alethology literally means the study of truth , but can more accurately be translated as the study of the nature of truth . It could be argued that this is synonymous with epistemology , the study of knowledge, and that dividing the two is mere semantics , but there is a distinction between the two. Epistemology is the study of knowledge and its acquisition. Alethiology is specifically concerned with the nature of truth, which is only one of the areas studied by epistemologists. The term alethiology is rare. The ten volume Routledge Encyclopedia of Philosophy mentions it only once, in the article Lambert, Johann Heinrich 1728 77 blockquote Part Two of the Neues Organon is the Alethiology or Doctrine of Truth . Lambert s key concern here is with the nature and function of the simple concepts that serve as the building blocks for the logical construction of true propositions. ref Routledge Encyclopedia of Philosophy, Version 1.0, London Routledge ref blockquote The Encyclop dia Britannica Eleventh Edition describes the discipline as an uncommon expression for the doctrine of truth, used by Sir William Hamilton, 9th Baronet Sir William Hamilton in his philosophic writings when treating of the rules for the discrimination of truth and error. ref http www.1911encyclopedia.org Alethiology Entry for Alethiology in the Encyclop dia Britannica Eleventh Edition ref See also Truth Criteria of truth Category Theories of truth Citations reflist Category Epistemology ...   more details
