Olive s mother gave Martha an excerpt from her daughter s Olive journal that revealed that she had wanted to be friends with Martha. The note also said that Olive wanted to be a writer, and go to the Ocean, like Martha. The journal made Martha feel eerie as it seemed that Martha can do what Olive wanted. She also had a same dream and hobbies with a dead person. Olive was very unremarkable and had no friends at school. She leaves for her grandmother s home the next day with her parents and her siblings, 2 year old Lucy and 13 year old Vince. She is haunted by Olive who had been in a hit and run accident a few weeks ago while riding her bicycle.
