Unreferenced date March 2007 Cosimo Momo Barone Momo the Roach is a fictional character in the novels The Godfather Returns and The Godfather s Revenge . He grew up in the Bronx alongside boyhood friend Eddie Paradise . Momo , as he was called, got his nickname the Roach because his flamboyant, rigidly shellacked hairstyle seemed as hard as a roach s exoskeleton . Momo Barone grew up around people like Pete Clemenza and was attached like a fly to him in the novel. He was also the best friend of soldato and caporegime Nick Geraci , and the nephew of Sal Tessio . After Geraci killed Tessio in 1955, Momo is made under him with fellow soldato soldier Eddie Paradise. He also befriended fellow Geraci soldier Carmine Marino . He is considered untrustworthy because of his blood relationship to Tessio, but is liked by Tom Hagen , and thus given the job to kill the man who stole his watch. Barone is Nick Geraci s closest aide circa 1956 to 1960. After Geraci is deposed in 1961, Barone is considered a likely candidate for the role of caporegime , but Paradise is chosen instead to be capo . It is implied Barone doesn t hold a grudge for being overlooked, but he is angry that nobody trusted him because he was Tessio s Kid . Barone meets with Geraci, who is still on the run in 1963, and agrees to help Geraci in his bid to dethrone Michael Corleone and take over as Don. Geraci promises Barone the title of consigliere if he agrees to help. Barone agrees, and feeds Geraci information on Michael Corleone s plans. Ultimately, both Geraci and Barone are killed while attending a meeting that had been supposedly arranged for Geraci to negotiate his bid for leadership. The meeting turns out to be a setup masterminded by Michael Corleone. story date December 2007 Momo meaning crumb was the 10th Tu i Tonga Tu okina i Tonga , a dynasty of mighty kings in Tonga , and lived somewhere in the 11th, maybe 12th century AD. He was named after one of the original gods of Tonga, a trio known as Kohai, Koau, mo Momo . It was under his reign that the Tu i Tonga Empire Tu okina i Tonga maritime empire started to blossom. King Momo had his court in Heket , near the village of Niutoua Niut ua doubly planted coconuttrees , so named because a red and a white palm grew from the same hole. His people were known as the Ha okina a mene okina uli dirty bottoms tribe , because in order to honour him they had to keep their head lower than his, and thus shuffled around on their bottoms instead of their feet. One day the king fell in love with a beautiful girl and sent his envoy, Leha okina uli, to her father, Lo okina au, the Tu okina i Ha okina amea Ha okina amea king with the request to beg him for a Yam vegetable yam for his plantation. Lo okina au understood the real meaning of the request and answered that he was unable to help as one yam was still immature and the other had already sprouted. He meant to say that his youngest daughter was still too young while his older daughter, named Nua, had already brought forth a child and was therefore an old woman. Once a yam starts to sprout the tuber is no longer edible . Her husband was Ngongokilitoto from Malapo , chief of the Ha okina angongo tribe. Momo had to think for a moment, but next day he sent his envoy back to Lo okina au with the famous words Fena k ko Nua sprouted, but still it is Nua . And so Lo okina au had to go to Malapo to ask Ngongokilitoto to give up his wife. It was hard as the two really loved each other, but they knew who was boss. At last Nua became Momo s wife ...
