Unreferenced date March 2007 The Motorola 68851 is an external Memory Management Unit MMU which is designed to provide paged memory support for the 68020 using that processor s coprocessor interface. In theory it can be used with other processors such as the 68010 by simulating the coprocessor interface in software. Later 68K family processors such as the 68030, 68040, and 68060 have an internal MMU, and will not operate with the 68851, except possibly by simulation of the coprocessor interface. The 68851 was available as an option for the Apple Macintosh II , and was necessary to run Apple s A UX operating system. Very few cards for the Amiga make use of the 68851 primarily because it can only be used with a small range of processors and most Amigas and accelerator cards use a processor which either has its own MMU or cannot support an MMU. The boat is catboat cat rigged , and is sailed by either one or two people. History In the 1960s, Johnson Boat Works introduced the J Scow as its new boat. The boat had a hull similar in size and shape to the M Scow but sporting only a mainsail and no jib . Harry Melges, owner of Melges Boat Works now called Melges Performance Sailboats and Johnson s competitor, saw the new design and had a chance to test sail it. He found that the boat was a good design but was underpowered and could use some modern rigging. Later on, Melges brought out a version of the J Scow with a larger mainsail and some new designs. The MC Scow was born. The MC proved to be faster than the J Scow and so eventually, Johnson converted its J Scow production into MC production. Johnson and Melges both continued to make MC s until 1998 when Melges bought out Johnson. In recent years, Melges has stepped up its marketing efforts with the MC.
