It had its heyday during the British folk music revival of the mid 1960s and was notable as a venue in which musicians of that period met and learnt from each other. As such, it was influential in the careers of, for example, Al Stewart , Davey Graham , Bert Jansch , John Renbourn , Sandy Denny , John Martyn singer John Martyn , Alexis Korner , The Strawbs , Roy Harper and Paul Simon .     Frank Cousins Privy Council of the United Kingdom PC 8 September 1904 &ndash 11 June 1986 was a United Kingdom British labor union trade union leader and Labour Party UK Labour politician. He was born in Bulwell , Nottinghamshire , and became a full time official in the road transport section of the Transport and General Workers Union in July 1938. He was appointed National Secretary of Road Transport Commercial Group in October 1948, contested the TGWU Assistant General Secretary ship in 1948 and 1955, securing the position on the latter attempt. He was also elected to the Labour Party UK Labour Party s National Executive Committee the same year, but resigned in March 1956. Cousins was appointed acting General Secretary of the TGWU in February 1956, due to poor health on the part of Jock Tiffin .     Bryan Cousins born 29 December 1953 is a former Australian rules football er who played over 300 games in the Australian Football League Victorian Football League VFL and West Australian Football League WAFL competitions. Cousins played as a rover football rover and stood at 175 centimetres in height. After playing in the WAFL between 1970 and 1974 for the Perth Football Club , he was recruited to the VFL to play with Geelong Football Club Geelong where he made his debut in 1975. He went on to play 67 games for the club until 1979 when he returned to Perth. Cousins continued to play WAFL football until 1987. Cousins tied on votes for the 1983 Sandover Medal , but was beaten on a countback by John Ironmonger in 1997, the WAFL awarded him a retrospective Sandover Medal. In his two stints at Perth, Cousins played 238 games.
