Lansdowne is the largest suburb in the town after Solway, Kuripuni, Upper Plain and Eastside. Lansdowne is home to many of the most expensive homes in the Wairarapa, as it is a high socio economic area. Education Lansdowne was once home to two primary schools Totara Drive primary school and Lansdowne primary school But since then these have both been shut down as part of the Masterton district s amalgamation plan for education in the town. The closest school to the suburb is now Lakeview School, which is east of Wairarapa Hospital and west of the popular Henley lake. There are no high schools in Lansdowne.
