Prolog is an Object oriented programming object oriented toolkit for the Prolog logic programming language. It allows Class computer science classes and Inheritance computer science class hierarchies to be created within Prolog programs. Prolog was developed by Logic Programming Associates and first released in 1989 for MS DOS PCs. Support for other platforms was added, and a second version was released in 1995. A book about Prolog by Chris Moss was published by Addison Wesley in 1994. Two other approaches to object oriented Prolog include PDC Visual Prolog once known as Borland Turbo Prolog , SICStus Prolog and the almost implementation neutral Logtalk framework. Strawberry Prolog is a programming language dialect dialect of the Prolog programming language . Its syntax of programming languages syntax is very close to that of ISO Prolog but it has many extensions which are not part of the standard. The main idea of Strawberry Prolog is to be very easy to use and that is why some university universities use it for their Prolog courses. History Strawberry Prolog is produced by the http www.math.bas.bg Institute of Mathematics and Informatics at Bulgarian Academy of Sciences . The first version was released in 1996. The leader of the Strawberry team is Dimiter Dobrev. Some extensions Global variables Arrays Definition of functions and Built in predicates Prolog CGI Scripts OLE Automation COM and ActiveX Strawberry Prolog as OLE server Databases through ODBC Download The compiler can be downloaded from the Strawberry Prolog website. A restricted edition is available as freeware . Sample programs Chess.spj Chess Playing Program. You can play against the computer. This program is included in the standard installation of Strawberry Prolog. You will find it in the folder Games . Fractals.pro You will see an infinite fractals field in which you can move and even get lost. The goal is to find the target place in the field. This is a clever program which uses the Pseudorandom number generator pseudo random numbers in order to generate infinite but constant fractals field where you can come back and to find there the same picture as before. This sample demonstrate the graphical power of Strawberry Prolog. You will find it in the folder Programs in the standard installation of the Light edition. Debugger Strawberry Prolog has a unique debugger . You can watch the execution of your program in the Proof Tree window computing window . The New Liberal Movement New LM was a South Australia n political party that had parliamentary representation during the mid 1970s. Formed by Robin Millhouse on 6 May 1976 following the dissolution of the Liberal Movement Australia Liberal Movement , the New LM sought to be the true Liberalism liberal party in South Australia, arguing that the Liberal Party of Australia was no longer worthy of the descriptor liberal . Millhouse, as the New LM s only parliamentary representative in the South Australian House of Assembly , representing the Electoral district of Waite electoral district of Mitcham , kept a high profile for the New LM until the emergence of the Australian Democrats led many New LM members, including Millhouse and his assistant Janine Haines , to join the fledgling party, after which the New LM ceased to exist. LM was a short lived publication from Newsfield Publications Ltd Newsfield , the publishers of computer gaming titles such as Crash magazine Crash for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum and Zzap 64 for the Commodore 64 . It was launched in December 1986 and ran for four editions. The meaning of the name LM was never officially revealed to the public, though it was variously said to be short for Leisure Magazine, Leisure Monthly, or the pseudonymous Lloyd Mangram, under whose name copy frequently appeared in both Crash and Zzap64 . Its target demographic was male, and in the 18 30 age range this was a segment that Heat magazine Heat would attempt to target at its launch in 1999 also without success , before repositioning itself. It was a bold move for Newsfield, who had been successful in the computing sector. While the magazine was met with great enthusiasm amongst its readers, advertising revenue became increasingly hard to secure, as partners felt it wasn t projecting the image they had hoped for, nor in the numbers expected. In the face of such losses, Newsfield s limited financial resources could not support a setup requiring a large editorial team with both London and Shropshire offices. The magazine ceased publication after only four issues. In tone, the magazine borrowed some of the irreverent in house style of both Crash and Zzap64 , and had a wide coverage of popular culture such as books, games, TV, movies and music in a way that would become more common with the launch of magazines such as Loaded magazine Loaded nearly a decade later. Writers contributing to LM who later became successful include Neil Gaiman and the creators of the Rough Guides publications. Category Defunct British computer magazines Mag stub ... more details
