Refimprove date July 2007 Collapsed veins are a common result of chronic use of intravenous injection s. They are particularly common where injecting conditions are less than ideal, such as in the context of drug abuse . Vein s may become temporarily blocked if the internal lining of the vein swells in response to repeated injury or irritation. This may be caused by the Hypodermic needle needle , the Drug substance injected, or both. Once the swelling subsides the Circulatory system circulation will often become re established. Permanent vein collapse occurs as a consequence of Long term injecting Repeated injections, especially with blunt needles Poor technique Injection of substances which irritate the veins. Smaller veins may collapse as a consequence of too much suction being used when pulling back against the plunger of the syringe to check that the needle is in the vein. This will pull the sides of the vein together and, especially if they are inflamed, they may stick together causing the vein to block. Removing the needle too quickly after injecting can have a similar effect. See also Phlebitis symptom stub Collapsed veins may never recover. Much smaller veins are created by the body to circulate the blood, but they are not adequate for injections or IVs. Category Vascular diseases ... more details
Investment value is the value of a property to a particular investor. In the U.S. and U.K., it is equal to market value for the investor who has the capacity to put the property to good use its highest and best use, its most valuable use. For other investors with limited capacity or vision, investment value is lower because they cannot put the property to use in a way that is maximally productive. International Valuation Standards The current edition of International Valuation Standards Committee International Valuation Standards IVS 2011 defines Investment Value in a way which allows for either a higher value than market value or a lower value than market value Investment value the value of an asset to the owner or a prospective owner for individual investment or operational objectives. ref International Valuation Standards 2011 ref Investment Value is a subjective measure of value, a value in use , whilst market value Market Value is an objective value in exchange . As defined in IVS2, Investment Value is the valuation equivalent of the accounting accountancy concept of Value in use . Whereas IFRS s define the accountancy concepts of fair value and Value in use in operational terms, IVSs define Market Value and Investment Value by way of generalised definitions. Orphan date February 2009 Context date October 2009 John Tresilian c. 1450 &ndash after 1515 was a master smith who worked for Edward IV of England . All we know about Tresilian comes through few documents in Windsor Castle and his surviving handiwork. His name is Cornish but the dates of his birth and death unclear. According to official documents, John Tresilian was a principal smith that worked in Windsor Castle from 1477 1484. His annual wage was 24 5s or 16 pence a day. Documents mention his in connection to a 1479 creation of a large anvil that was brought to Windsor. In the King s Book of Payments for the year 1515 Tresilian was paid 30s 5d for clock making. He probably died within a couple of years. His successor was Anthony Trassillion, who might have been his son. Other clues are based on his unique handiwork. Based on the craftsmanship, Tresilian was involved with making gates to Edward IVs tomb and suite of door furniture for his chantry at St George s Chapel at Windsor Castle St. George s Chapel , Windsor, between 1477 1484. ref http books.google.com books?id 100X0MRhNLEC&pg PA14&lpg PA14&dq john tresilian windsor castle&source bl&ots xn7C2o0J1 &sig znCopE53qUnwYkm nSC2kYmUt40&hl en&ei gQBhTqnfBebX0QGai4ww&sa X&oi book result&ct result&resnum 7&ved 0CEgQ6AEwBg v onepage&q john 20tresilian 20windsor 20castle&f false Harry W Blackburne Maurice Bond, The romance of St. George s Chapel, Windsor Castle, Published for the Society of the Friends of St. George s Chapel by Oxley, 1976 , OCLC Number 11267322 ref Before 1841 these had been attributed to Brabant painter Quentin Metsys who lived 1466 1530 . In cryptography, a watermarking attack is an attack on disk encryption methods where the presence of a specially crafted piece of data e.g., a decoy file can be detected by an attacker without knowing the encryption key cryptography key . Problem description Disk encryption suites generally operate on data in 512 byte cylinder head sector sector s which are individually encrypted and decrypted. These 512 byte sectors alone can use any block cipher mode of operation typically Cipher Block Chaining CBC , but since arbitrary sectors in the middle of the disk need to be accessible individually, they cannot depend on the contents of their preceding succeeding sectors. Thus, with CBC, each sector has to have its own initialization vector IV . If these IVs are predictable by an attacker and the filesystem reliably starts file content at the same offset to the start of each sector, and files are likely to be largely contiguous , then there is a chosen plaintext attack which can reveal the existence of encrypted data, as follows. The problem is analogous to that of using block ciphers in the block cipher modes of operation Electronic codebook ECB electronic codebook ECB mode, but instead of whole blocks, only the first block in different sectors are identical. The problem can be relatively easily eliminated by making the IVs unpredictable with, for example, ESSIV . ref cite web last Fruhwirth first Clemens title Linux hard disk encryption settings url http clemens.endorphin.org LinuxHDEncSettings accessdate 2006 01 02 ref Alternatively, one can use modes of operation specifically designed for disk encryption see disk encryption theory . The ventricular septum is directed obliquely backward and to the right, and is curved with the convexity toward the right ventricle its margins correspond with the anterior and posterior longitudinal sulci . Portions The greater portion of it is thick and muscular and constitutes the muscular ventricular septum . Its upper and posterior part, which separates the aortic vestibule from the lower part of the right atrium and upper part of the right ventricle, is thin and fibrous, and is termed the membranous ventricular septum septum membranaceum . Development The muscular part of the interventricular septum derives from the bulboventricular flange which is developed due to differential growth of primitive ventricle and bulbous cordis. Membranous part has a neural crest origin which connects the upper free margin of the bulboventricular flange and anterior and posterior endocardial cussions of atrio ventricular valve. it also gets attached to lower border of spiral septum or the aortico pulmonary septum.
