The practice was developed by Lutheranism Lutherans and is currently in use in other Christian denomination denominations . The Hymn concertato is a genre of hymn arrangement for choir in which variation music varied treatments of stanzas are written out, all based on the familiar tune, and almost always ending with a verse for the Wiktionary congregation congregation to join on.
