His father, Rabbi Aharon Shmuel Stein , was the head of the Breinsk Beth Din and a student of Rabbi Shimon Shkop , who was the sandek at Pesach Yitzchok s brit milah bris . Stein studied at the yeshiva in Breinsk, and later at the Slonim Hasidic dynasty Slonim Yeshiva under Rabbi Shabsi Yogel. In 1936 Stein went to study in the Mir Yeshiva Poland Mir Yeshiva in Second Polish Republic Poland , where he formed a close relationship with the rosh yeshiva, Rabbi Eliezer Yehuda Finkel I Eliezer Yehuda Finkel . With the start of World War II , Stein fled with the Mir Yeshiva to Vilna and then to Shanghai , where he spent the remainder of the war. During this time, Stein formed a relationship with the mashgiach ruchani Mashgiach , Rabbi Yechezkel Levenstein . Stein was the only member of his family who survived the Holocaust . His parents and three brothers were killed by the Nazism Nazis during the Holocaust . After the war, he joined the remainder of the Mir yeshiva students in New York , where the yeshiva had re opened.     Abraham Pereira Mendes February 9, 1825, Kingston, Jamaica &ndash April 18, 1893, New York was an English rabbi and educator. He was the first master of the Beth Limud School of Kingston, but resigned in order to prepare in London, England for the vocation of preacher and rabbi. He studied under Raphael Meldola Sephardic Rabbi Dr. Meldola , the dayyan , and the Rev. David de Aaron de Sola D. A. de Sola , the learned Hazzan of the Bevis Marks Synagogue Sephardic community , and received his diplomas. He returned to Jamaica and became for a short time assistant to the Rev. Isaac Lopez, minister of the Kingston Sephardic congregation, but was soon called from that position to be the minister of the Montego Bay community. There he stayed until his wife s failing health compelled him, in 1851, to return to her milder native climate. Mendes was then elected minister and preacher in the Birmingham Eng. congregation, and remained there until 1858, when he moved to London, became head of the Neveh Zedek for six years, and established Northwick College , a school for Jewish youth. He continued meanwhile his ministerial duties and literary labors, and on the death of Haham Artom acted as preacher and dayyan for the Sephardic community of London. He was called to the ministry in the Newport, Rhode Island congregation at the historic Touro Synagogue by the guardian Congregation Shearith Israel of New York in 1883, and continued its minister until his death ten years later. He was the first among the Spanish and Portuguese Jews Sephardim to publish a volume of sermons in English 1855 . He translated the Daily Prayer Book of the German Jews Valentine s edition , and finished the translation of the Festival and Holy Day Books left incomplete by the death of Rev. D. A. de Sola.     Moses ben Avraham Avinu died ca. 1733 34 was an Czech people Czech Austrians Austrian printer and author who was a Christian convert to Judaism . His father, Jacob , was also a convert. Moses was born at Nikolsburg now Mikulov . He became a native of Prague , and was circumcised at Amsterdam . In 1686 87, he worked for two printers of Amsterdam, but from 1690 to 1694 seems to have owned a printing establishment and to have printed several Hebrew books, including his own Judeo German translation of Nathan ben Moses Hannover Hannover s Yewen Mezulah . He assisted with the engravings for the 1695 Haggadah of Pesach Passover Haggadah , which was printed by Kosman Emrich. In 1709, Moses established a printing office at Disambiguation needed Halle, Germany date June 2011 , where in 1712 he printed his Tela ot Moshe or Weltbeschreibung , a Judeo German work on the Ten Lost Tribes Ten Tribes , having collected the material from a number of sources, particularly from Abraham Farissol and Gedaliah ibn Yahya ben Joseph Gedaliah ibn Yahya .     Unreferenced date December 2009 Rinat Yisrael is a siddur written in Hebrew language Hebrew only, popular among many Modern Orthodox Judaism Modern Orthodox Jew s in Israel , and used by some in the Jewish diaspora Diaspora as well. It was first published in 1970 by the Moreshet Publishing Company , and edited by Dr. Shlomo Tal . Published in connection with the Israeli Ministry of Education , the siddur aims to allow youngsters and students to become familiar and comfortable with the siddur and Jewish services prayer service . To further this goal, Rinat Yisrael uses a large typeface , a modern, easy to read font , and uses special symbols to denote which syllable a word is accented on. Also included are references to verses quoted from the Tanach , and translations of difficult words, including passages in Aramaic , into modern Hebrew. Additionally, most passages are printed in the same size type, in order not to lend the impression that some prayers are more important than others. New prayers recognizing the rebirth of the State of Israel have been added, including a Prayer for the Welfare of the State of Israel, a Prayer for the Soldiers of The Israel Defense Forces IDF , and a service for Israel Independence Day .
