The GNI is similar to the grossnational product GNP , except that in measuring the GNP one does not deduct the indirect business taxes. GNI versus GDP For example, the profits of a US owned company operating in the UK will only count towards US GNI and UK GDP. If a country becomes heavily indebted, and pays large amounts of interest to service this debt, this will be reflected in a decreased GNI but not a decreased GDP. If a country sells off its resources to entities outside their country this will also be reflected over time in decreased GNI, but not decreased GDP. Therefore, the GDP appears more attractive for countries with increasing national debt and decreasing assets. GNI versus GNP GNP is a concept that goes hand in hand with GNI, GDP, and Net nationalincome NNI . In contrast to the GNI, the GNP does not account for the balance of cross country income, such as interest and dividends. Wikify date June 2011 The Gross Domestic Income GDI is the total income received by all sectors of an economy within a nation. It includes the sum of all wages, profits, and taxes, minus subsidies. Since all income is derived from production including the production of services , the gross domestic income of a country should exactly equal its gross domestic product GDP . The GDP is a very commonly cited statistic measuring the economic activity of countries, and the GDI is quite uncommon. In the United States, the Bureau of Economic Analysis produces figures for both the GDP and GDI. Although these should be equal, since they are calculated in different ways, in practice, the listed figures are different. This difference is known as the statistical discrepancy. ref cite web title A Consistent Accounting of U.S. Productivity Growth author Eric J. Bartelsman and J. unreferenced date June 2010 orphan date June 2010 This term used for an income producing property, derived from the potential grossincome , less the vacancy factor and a collection loss amount. This is the relationship or ratio between the sale price of the value of a property and its effective gross rental income. The anticipated income from all operations of the real property after an allowance is made for a vacancy and collection losses. Effective grossincome includes items constituting other income, i.e., income generated from the operation of the real property that is not derived from space rental e.g., parking rental or income from vending machines . For example Let s say that we have a couple properties that have a potential income of 15,000 if they are all filled to maximum occupancy. The average vacancy rate of the properties in cash is 1,250 this is the sum of the rent that is not coming in due to vacancy in the properties . We then subtract the average vacancy rate in dollars from the potential income from renting the properties. Our total is then 13,750. Therefore the Effective Gross Rental Income is then 13,750. They are policy documents covering a wide range of economic and political issues, such as salary salaries , tax ation, pension s, unemployment benefit s, and houses housing costs. In nationalincome policy agreements, the government and the employees and employers organizations attempt to reach a common understanding of the best choices for the national economics economy in terms of economic growth and real wage s. In United States agricultural policy, several measures are used to gauge farm income over a given period of time. Gross cash income is the sum of all receipts from the sale of crops, livestock, and farm related goods and services as well as all forms of direct payments from the government. Gross farm income is the same as gross cash income with the addition of nonmoney income, such as the value of home consumption of self produced food and the imputed gross rental value of farm dwellings. Net cash income is gross cash income less all cash expenses such as for feed, seed, fertilizer, property taxes, interest on debt, wages to hired labor, contract labor and rent to nonoperator landlords. Net farm income is gross farm income less cash expenses and noncash expenses, such as capital consumption, perquisites to hired labor, and farm household expenses. It is a longer term measure of the ability of the farm to survive as a viable income earning business. Net cash income is a shorter term measure of cash flow. Farm income and balance sheet The income statement measures the profitability of a farm business for a particular period of time, usually one year. The balance sheet measures the wealth or financial position of the business at a particular point in time by reporting the farm s assets, debt, and net worth. The Economic Research Service publishes the income statement and balance sheet of the Nation s farm sector , and the farm sector financial statement for each state.
