Early career Albert Dumouchel was born into a family of tradesman tradesmen at Bellerive, a working class parish in the municipality of Salaberry de Valleyfield Valleyfield , Quebec . He was educated at the S minaire Saint Thomas D Aquin de Valleyfield, known today as the Coll ge de Valleyfield. From the age of 8, he studied violin and piano, as well as studying singing under Rodolphe Plamondon . From 1936 to 1949, he taught art classes at the S minaire de Valleyfield. Teaching career As of 1940, he acted as a textile design er at Montreal Cottons in Valleyfield. He also taught drawing, history of art, publicity and photography at the Institut des Arts graphiques which had just been founded in Montreal, Canada Montreal known today as Coll ge Ahuntsic . He set up an engraving workshop which became famous throughout Canada, and was its artistic director for many years.     Charles Othon Fr d ric Jean Baptiste, Comte de Clarac 1777, Paris 1847, Paris was a French artist, scholar and archaeologist. Life Emigrating on the French Revolution Revolution , he travelled round Europe, finding success in drawing and archaeology. He became tutor to the children of Joachim Murat , king of Naples, and was charged by Murat with showing them round the ruins of Pompeii . He returned to France under the French Consulate Consulate , and was made conservator of antiquities at the Louvre in 1818. In 1838 he was admitted to the Acad mie des Beaux Arts as a free member. On the shores of the Para bo do Sul, in the woods of Rio Bonito, Rio de Janeiro Rio Bonito to the north of Rio de Janeiro , he made several signed croquis , and once he was back in Europe worked them up into a large watercolour of the untouched and primitive forest interior of Brazil. The resulting work also the result of minute study of tropical plants cultivated in the greenhouses of prince Prince Maximilian of Wied Neuwied Maximilien zu Wied s ch teau , For t vierge du Br sil , was shown at the Salon Paris Salon of 1819. From its vegetal profusion emanates an organic luxuriance which several photographers later tried to emulate and reproduce.
