A representative to the Senate of Romania Senate for Ialomi a County , she became a Member of the European Parliament on January 1, 2007 with the Accession of Romania to the European Union Romania s accession to the European Union . Born in Grindu, Ialomi a Grindu , Petre is a graduate of the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest . She later specialized in public administration and commerce, and took additional training courses in the United Kingdom , United States and Denmark .
