  1. Acceptance credit

An acceptance credit is a type of letter of credit that is paid by a time cheque draft authorizing payment on or after a specific date, if the terms of the letter of credit have been complied with. There are two types of acceptance credit, confirmed and unconfirmed. Unconfirmed acceptance credit means that the seller takes the risk that payment will not be made, due to any number of contingencies such as shipment nondelivery, confiscation by customs authorities, or any other problems. Confirmed acceptance credit means that the bank upon which the credit has been issued, essentially guarantees payment as long as the terms of the letter of credit have been complied with. Confirmed acceptance credit is more expensive to establish than unconfirmed acceptance credit because the issuing bank is effectively guaranteeing payment. It also transfers the risk of non delivery to the recipient, because once the seller Free on board places the product in the hands of the shipping company , the seller has complied and will be paid if the shipment does not arrive, is delayed, or other problems occur, the buyer cannot stop payment or otherwise prevent redemption of the acceptance credit. 1. Self-acceptance

Onesource date March 2008 Expert subject Psychology date March 2008 Self acceptance is defined as affirmation or acceptance of self in spite of weaknesses or deficiencies. Although this term has been often understood in a common sense way, researchers have defined it formally in terms of positive and negative self concepts. According to Shepard 1979 , self acceptance refers to an individual s satisfaction or happiness with himself, and is thought to be necessary for good mental health . Self acceptance involves self understanding, a realistic, albeit subjective, awareness of one s strengths and weaknesses. It results in an individual s feeling about himself that he is of unique worth . In clinical psychology and positive psychology , self acceptance is considered the prerequisite for change to occur. It can be achieved by stopping criticizing and solving the defects of one s self, and then accepting them to be existing within one s self. That is, tolerating oneself to be imperfect in some parts. 1. Acceptance sampling

Acceptance sampling uses statistical sampling to determine whether to accept or reject a production lot of material. It has been a common quality control technique used in industry and particularly the military for contracts and procurement. It is usually done as products leave the factory, or in some cases even within the factory. Most often a producer supplies a consumer a number of items and decision to accept or reject the lot is made by determining the number of defective items in a sample from the lot. 1. Misinformation acceptance

merge Misinformation effect date July 2011 Misinformation acceptance is the tendency to believe statements heard after some critical event as being true of the original event itself. For example, a man who just witnessed a robbery at a hardware store may not remember the robber s specific actions, but is willing to accept that the robber took a screwdriver when the narrator mentions it. Later on, the man reports having seen the screwdriver. This tendency is possibly a major component of memory distortion, i.e., deviation of memory output from memory input. According to Loftus, an expert on misinformation effect of human memory, this phenomenon occurs quite often in real life whenever people who experience the same event talk to one another, overhear each other talk, or gain access to new information from the media, interrogators, or other sources she also emphasizes that misinformation acceptance has not received the appreciation that it deserves as a phenomenon worthy of our sustained investigation Loftus, 1989 . Misinformation acceptance occurs when people accept additional information as having been part of an earlier experience without actually remembering that information Ashcraft & Radvansky, 2006 . People are ready to accept information given after the fact and become certain about the secondhand memories. Misinformation acceptance gets stronger as more time passes for the event and the original memory turn out to be less accessible Payne, Toglia & Anastasi, 1994 .
