His most famous work is the Casa del Fascio Como Casa del Fascio built in Como , northern Italy, which was begun in 1932 and completed in 1936 it was built in accordance with the International style architecture International Style of architecture and frescoed by abstract artist Mario Radice . In 1938, at the behest of Mussolini s fascist government, Terragni designed the Danteum , a monument to the Italian poet Dante Alighieri structured around the formal divisions of his greatest work, the Divine Comedy . Biography Giuseppe Terragni was born in Meda, Italy Meda , Lombardy . He attended the Technical College in Como then studied architecture at the Politecnico di Milano university. In 1927 he and his brother Attilio opened an office in Como. They remained in practice until Giuseppe s death during the war. A pioneer of the modern movement in Italy , Terragni produced some of its most significant buildings. A founding member of the fascist Gruppo 7 and a leading Italian Rationalist , Terragni fought to move architecture away from neo classical and neo baroque revivalism. In 1926 he and other progressive members of Gruppo 7 issued the manifesto that made them the leaders in the fight against revivalism. In a career that lasted only 13 years, Terragni created a small but remarkable group of designs most of them were built in Como , which was one of the centers of the Modern Movement in Italy . Before World War I , he was an anarchist and, together with his friend Benito Mussolini , collaborated with the Socialism in Italy socialist newspaper La lotta di classe . He was a fervid interventionist as early as August 1914. In those years he moved to Bologna , where he worked in the Italian railroad. In the early 1920 he founded the second Fascio Fascio di combattimento in the city. On 21 November 1920 he was amongst the leader of the squads which took part in the fightings between Fascists and Socialists in Piazza Nettuno and Piazza Maggiore in Bologna the so called strage of Palazzo d Accursio . The following year he became deputy and, after the March to Rome , he was made national vice secretary of the Italian Fascist Party Partito Nazionale Fascista PNF . In 1926 he became podest of Bologna, a position which he left in 1929 to became Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interiors. Arpinati held several positions in the Italian sport world, such as the President of Italian National Olympic Committee CONI and of the Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio Italian football federation he led the reformation of the Serie A championship on national level, and organized the 1934 FIFA World Cup . In 1926 he intervened to strip FC Torino of the national football title after a corruption scandal as the FC Bologna Bologna team had arrived second behind Torino, Arpinati, being a Bolognese, decided to leave the title unassigned a feat unparalleled until the 2006 Calciopoli to avoid accuses of personal interest.     Carlo Alberto Biggini December 9, 1902 November 19, 1945 was an Italy Italian Fascism Fascist politician who served as Minister of Education before and after proclamation of the Italian Social Republic under Benito Mussolini . Biography Born in Sarzana , Province of La Spezia , he joined the Blackshirts in 1920, and co signed the Fascist Intellectuals Manifesto in 1925. He earned a bachelor s degree in law and political science in 1928, and subsequently taught law at the University of Sassari , and then at the University of Pisa where he became e rector in 1941 . Biggini asserted himself through his strong belief in Corporatism . Despite a brief collaboration with Anti Fascism Anti fascists , he joined the National Fascist Party PNF in 1928, and became party secretary for the Fascio in La Spezia , being elected to the Italian Chamber of Deputies Chamber of Deputies in 1934. He fought in the Second Italo Abyssinian War as a Lieutenant in the 84th Fanteria of the Division Gavinana in Italian East Africa , and rose to become inspector for the PNF, then February 5, 1943 Minister of National Education and a Grand Council of Fascism member. On July 25, Biggini voted against Dino Grandi s proposal for the removal of Mussolini, and stood by the Duce as the Social Republic was created with help from Nazi Germany . The Germans were also instrumental in pressuring him to accept the Ministry again. Placing his seat in Padova , Biggini managed to avoid capture by the Italian resistance movement partisans in Dongo, Italy Dongo .
