Methuen Publishing Methuen The Land of Far Beyond is a children s novel written by Enid Blyton in 1942. It is a Christian allegory and is loosely modelled on John Bunyan s The Pilgrim s Progress . A boy named Peter and his two sisters, Anna and Patience, travel from the City of Turmoil to the City of Happiness in the Land of Far Beyond, carrying the heavy burdens of their bad deeds on their backs. With them are two other children, Lily and John, and five adults Mr Scornful, Mr Fearful, Dick Cowardly, Gracie Grumble and Sarah Simple. They have been warned to keep to the narrow path but they are beset by troubles and temptations on the way, causing them to stray from the path and into danger. Although Peter and his sisters finally make it to the City of Happiness, their companions do not. However the book also hints that Mr Scornful, carrying the worst bad deeds of all, who failed at the gate to the City of Happiness continues to fight until the end taking the narrow path to a different entrance unlike the previous adults and children that failed. Producer The Dream Clinic Reviews FarBeyond a Distant Sun Live in Arlington Texas is Captain Beyond s only official live album to date. It was recorded in 1973, after the release of Sufficiently Breathless , with the four original members reuniting for a brief tour before Rod Evans left. The album was recorded at the University of Texas at Arlington in support of King Crimson . The album was not officially released until 2002. Originally this performance was available only through their fan club. Few were sold due to terrible sound quality and crude packaging. The discs were simple CD R s with titles silkscreened painted on top in black, while the covers on front and back were crudely designed. They were packaged by the band members and manager Gary Graber. During the late 1990s, the master tape was worked on, and a few hundred CDs were pressed. The quality was somewhat improved, but the album still suffered from trying to rework an already bad source into something somewhat better. Bootlegs of this CD version are in circulation.
