Fame Is the Name of the Game 1966 is an United States American television movie TV movie , directed by Stuart Rosenberg , that aired on NBC and served as the TV pilot pilot episode of the subsequent series The Name of the Game TV series The Name of the Game . The film stars Tony Franciosa as an investigative journalism investigative journalist and presents the screen debut of 20 year old Susan Saint James , who also continued her role in the later series. The first player names a well known celebrity, such as Brad Pitt .
