His father was Rainaldo, baron of Rocca d Evandro , and it is thought that his mother was a noble woman from the Gaetani family of Crown of Aragon Aragon . Ettore served as a page to Ferdinand I of Naples and later became a condottiero for Ferdinand II of Naples Ferdinand II . As such he fought against Charles VIII of France in 1493, during the First Italian War French invasion of Italy . He continued to serve Frederick IV of Naples Frederick IV against the kings of France and Spain, but after Frederick s defeat in 1501, he turned to serve Prospero Colonna against France and Spain. Ettore Pozzoli born July 23, 1873, died November 9, 1957 was an Italy Italian european classical music classical pianist . Biography Born in the Italian city of Seregno , Ettore Pozzoli began his career soon after he received his music diploma from the Milan Conservatory in 1895. While writing music for piano and orchestra, he started teaching at the Milan Conservatory . His works on theory and solfeggio, even now days considered the basis of the studies of any pianist, are known for the progressive difficulty, for harmony and counterpoint. His composition Danza fantastica was chosen in 1956 as the compulsory piece for competitors at the sixth World Accordion Contest in Danzica . Pozzoli died on the 9th of November 1957 in Seregno Italy , where, since 1959, an international piano contest in his honour takes place organized by the City.
