Goldfields South was an New South Wales Legislative Assembly electoral districts electoraldistrict of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly Legislative Assembly in the Australia n state of New South Wales from 1859 to 1880, including the goldfields within several southern electorates. The Electoraldistrict of South Launceston , sometimes referred to as Launceston South , was an electoraldistrict of the Tasmanian House of Assembly . It was based in Tasmania s second city, Launceston, Tasmania Launceston , and the surrounding rural area. The seat was created as a single member seat ahead of the Tasmanian state election, 1871 1871 state election following the dissolution of the multi member Electoraldistrict of Launceston Launceston seat. In 1886, it became a two member seat, and at the Tasmanian state election, 1897 1897 election , it was abolished when the Launceston seat was recreated under a trial of the Hare Clark model.
