lunar crater data latitude 22.1 N or S N longitude 86.9 E or W E diameter 81 km depth Unknown colong 275 eponym Edwin Hubble Edwin P. Hubble Hubble is a Moon lunar Impact crater crater that lies very near the east northeastern limb of the Moon . At this location it is viewed almost from the side from Earth , and the visibility of this feature is affected by libration . It lies to the north of the Mare Marginis and northeast of the crater Cannon crater Cannon . About one crater diameter to the north northeast is Lyapunov crater Lyapunov . The rim of this crater is worn and eroded, and it has a somewhat irregular edge in places. The inner wall is wider along the western side, where the rim has a slight outward bulge. The most intact portion of the rim lies along the eastern side, and the inner wall of this face is visible from the Earth. The interior floor has been resurfaced by basalt ic lava , giving it a lower albedo than the surrounding terrain. It is, however, not quite as dark as the lunar mare to the south. This surface is relatively level and featureless, with only a few tiny craterlets. It lacks a central peak, but a pair of small craterlets lies near the mid point. Hubble images selected to be part of a commemorative series of stamps honoring astronomer EdwinHubbleEdwin P. Hubble . The website of the project contains a lot of information about the NASA ESA Hubble Space Telescope, including a lot of interesting images taken by the Hubble, and information about the future of Hubble. The images on the site are the most notable ones taken by Hubble, and are specifically ...The Hubble Heritage Project was founded by a group of astronomer s in 1998. The team releases on an almost monthly basis pictures of celestial object s like planet s, star s, galaxies and galaxy cluster s. A team of astronomers and image processing specialists selects images from the Hubble Space Telescope s public data archive, which are usually only shared within the astronomical community. Because most of the photos were taken for scientific reasons they often lack sufficient Exposure photography exposure across a range of colors. A small amount of observation time with the Hubble Space Telescope has been granted to the team to fill in the gaps in these images. The Project has been recognized for its contribution to public inspiration in producing some of the most aesthetically pleasing images ever produced in astronomy. Achievements for the team include the Astronomical Society of the Pacific 2003 Klumpke Roberts Award for outstanding contributions to the public understanding and appreciation of astronomy. In 2002, two Heritage images were selected in the Rochester Institute of Technology s Images From Science traveling gallery exhibit. Several images have been selected by the US ..., including as computer wallpaper s. no footnotes date July 2010 Hubble Middle School or HMS is a Public school government funded public middle school located in Wheaton, Illinois . It was originally in the building that was the original Wheaton High School, which later became Wheaton Central High School. In 1992, the building was converted into a middle school. It was named for the astronomer EdwinHubble , a Wheaton native and graduate of Wheaton Central High School. Dr. Beth Sullivan is currently the principal at this school. A new Hubble was built in Warrenville, Illinois Warrenville near Galusha Road. It was finished on time to open the 2009 2010 school year. The New Hubble The new Hubble is located on Galusha Road, and is now closer to the students it serves. There is extended classroom space so that teachers can let their students work in the halls. The teachers can supervise the students due to the large glass windows. The cafeteria seats up to 340 students at a time, and the hot lunch lines are carefully organized so that students can easily reach everything. There are regular lunch tables, as well as high tables for two next to the windows. The recycling, composting, and garbage system is efficient and very green. The new Hubble, designed by Legat Architects, is one of the few schools to meet the LEED leadership in energy and environmental design qualifications.
